But she is entitled to her opinion. Sometimes, because we're writing these things from the safety net of our bedrooms, offices, dens, etc., we tend to let the vitriole fly unabashedly. Let's try to keep reaction to Ms. Boyer's post under control if we could. No reason to turn her away or bash her in turn. I have an idea even she thinks she went a bit too far in that post. Sally is right when she says that this isn't the Richard versus >insert singer-songwriter here< List. Debating the relative merits of various songwriters makes for healthy discussion. We just have to strive to be a bit gracious when our opinions differ. Last time I checked, this wasn't the Twisted Sister discussion group. Uh Oh, I may have gone too far (there just COULDN'T be TS fans on this List). Howie's original post was meant as a joke, and I'm sure the majority of people on the list took it as such. For him to be vilified by posts like this is a disgrace. Dave. PS I'm sure the "Britney Spears poster" accusation is libellous ... ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 17:49:05 From: "sharon g" Subject: [RS] joan hey all.. just a few words on the catapult of a career move that singing with joan baez is.. i first saw some petite short haired sprite who sang some catchy song about a babysitter at a joan baez concert. I then saw Crycrycry in concert 7 times. i saw the crowds reaction to dar, lucy and richard. though joan has promoted the careers of dar and richard and betty elders and eliza cathy and dave and tracey and I adore her it and for her staying power and staying new. i have to point out that there one of the c3 has worked her butt off touring across country for 250 nights a year for the last three years. Her increasing larger venues, ticket sales, record sales and attendance at shows and recent CBS and ED publicity is starting to pay off .. for Lucy Kaplansky.. she doesnt have the charm or banter of dar, or the guitar skills and songwriting of richard.. but she has worked her butt off and it started to pay off for her.. as for richard sales in tarrytown.. when they were looking for a co-bill someone suggested "someone like Lucy Kaplansky" and that is who they got .. Lucy.. so its a co bill and we all know the magic that LK and RS bring to one stage look for harmonies and LOVE HURTS and the angry Mary Magdelene and more magic from these two friends and artists.. when gifts are given .. take the blessings and use them wisely especially when you get a second chance... end of commerical... sharonG I was chasing grace and grace aint so easily found slaid cleaves - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 12:48:53 -0500 (EST) From: "Vanessa C. I think Howie's post was intended to be a "lighten up" message to those embroiled in the Joan adorer-basher debate. Actually, I don't know what Howie thinks of Joan Baez.
