I, too, would love to get a recording of the first of these (actually titled "The Lakes of Pontchartrain"), but have never heard of "Farewell to the Gold." Is it another traditional song, or something more recent? (In the Q & A section on the website he admits Nic's playing and singing had been a huge influence). I was so pleased to read that having owned (and loved) the album for about 20 years. Paul Brady does a nifty version of 'Ponchartrain' too. This very night, Richard, along with the illustrious Dave and Tracy, and Joan "Bane of RonG's Existence" Baez, performed in Morristown, NJ, not so far from where I sit. I missed this concert because my a cappella group had a gig. That's why I'm missing him tomorrow in New Brunswick. And Saturday in Glenside. And next Tuesday in NYC. :-/ I think I feel ill. All I can say is, I expect full detailed reports of each and every concert! The upside is that tonight, after our performance, I saw Patty Larkin play on campus! Wow, I think I'm in love. I'd almost forgotten how great she is live. - --Vanessa - -- Niles: I used to think they [the back-row hooligans] were mean. Now, I know they were just acting out of frustration. Frasier: So, when Billy Kriedle tried to stuff you into your locker after math class, he wasn't mad at you. He was mad at Pythagoras!" Niles: Mmm. Which is ironic, because a simple volume equation would have shown him I couldn't fit.
