The entire album, "SongBird" is a bit uneven but when this track comes on, it stops you dead in your tracks and draws you in completely. One of the best covers I've ever heard, anywhere. There's some people with great taste ont his list, obviously. :-) Ron ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2002 08:12:19 -0600 From: "Kristen Myshrall" Subject: Re: [RS] added concert in st. louis- WOOHOO! Johnson" Subject: [RS] Robert Earl Keen I saw Robert Earl Keen at the Iron Horse last night. I definitely can see REK as the Texas version of RS. He played "Shades of Grey" (no intro.). I was thinking about the similarities between SOG and Sparrows Point-- how you don't know what the song is really about till the last line stating time and place. For Charlie's benefit, REK told stories about Townes Van Zandt- how he tried to rent a car with a fishing license and a library card and how he could remain perfectly still. Ob. Green song comment- "Look out every window" by Bruce Hornsby. Locally the Parks and Recreation department hosts tree planting events at various sites, usually parks. The public is invited to come out and help plant new trees. The concept started actually in Nebraska, sometime in the late 1800's as Nebraska settlers found they were missing trees, both for esthetic sake and for the practical purpose of windbreakers. brian. - ----- Original Message ----- From: alan.teather To: Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 3:45 PM Subject: RE: [RS] Another "Green" song > What's Arbor day? > > Alan > > > > > > > > > Who do you know who would like some extra income now the credit cards are > biting? > > Have them email me for details. > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-shindell-list-digest@smoe.org > [mailto:owner-shindell-list-digest@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Brian > Williamson > Sent: 22 January 2002 20:28 > To: shindell-list@smoe.org > Subject: Re: [RS] Another "Green" song > > > I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions regarding my "Green > Song" question.
