Maybe not green, but... Arno, You are probably right re: Noel Paul Stookey vs. PPM doing "Wedding Song"--that era is kind of a blur, as are this trio. But the song remains the same...I'll bet it's still played at many a wedding. I went to see a French folk singer this evening, Gabriel Yacoub. He was very good, and very charming. His explanations of the songs before singing them were the best part of the evening, very sweet. He sang only two songs in English, as it made him nervous. But one of them he said was given to him by his friend, Richard Shindell! I was one of only three people who clapped at the mention of the name. :-) Anyway, he then sang "You Stay Here" and that was the most delightful surprise of the evening for me. He did, with Richard's permission, leave off the final verse for personal reasons, but it was lovely just the same. I do indeed recommend seeing him. :-) SMOKEY Atlantic Canada's Artists and Artisans www.gathering-of-artists.ca ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jan 2002 23:21:20 -0500 From: Vanessa Christina Wills Subject: [RS] being green _can_ be easy "Living it up in the Garden," by The Nields How could I not think of this one sooner?! - --V - -- Niles: I used to think they [the back-row hooligans] were mean. Now, I know they were just acting out of frustration. Frasier: So, when Billy Kriedle tried to stuff you into your locker after math class, he wasn't mad at you. He was mad at Pythagoras!" Niles: Mmm. Which is ironic, because a simple volume equation would have shown him I couldn't fit.
