I'm giving the second copy to my aunt and uncle who live in Ohio, who exhibited an appreciation for RS's work one year when I was playing Sparrows Point. Every year I've given them a new CD of his. My uncle is a great guy, very down to earth. He gets up at 5am most weekends to go hunting (eats what he catches) and really loves life. Charlie, if I married you and you took my name, you would be Charlie Hunter-Green. - --Sally sallyagreen@hotmail.com http://members.tripod.com/sagreen/cletus _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2001 10:38:17 EST From: Phueber@aol.com Subject: [RS] How Many Orders? This CD made some of my shopping decisions a lot easier. BTW, Charlie..... any significance to the numbers 2, 12, 10, 20, 26, 1, 1, 1?? UGH! all these Shindell digests and Courier discussion and my copy hasn't made it to Santa Clara, CA yet...sigh...any Californians/west coasters see their copy yet. i was sure it would have arrived by Saturday, but it hasn't hit my house yet. of course, i'm anxious to get home from work today...perhaps my triple order delayed things (also order Dave and Tracy and the Winter Solstice CDs)... back to lurkdom and envy...although i am playing the Real Audio clips, they aren't the same as listening the whole songs on my home system. derek ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2001 10:54:15 -0600 From: "Kristen Myshrall" Subject: Re: [RS] How Many Orders? Actually I'm their only good source for singer/songwriter stuff over here. (and they tend to have budget problems with 3 little kids...). But considering my recent experiences with deliveries from the U.S. I don't expect the courier bring the courier before x-mas. (a friend sent me the wonderful new susan werner cd via global priority mail (which usually takes a week or so) - took over 3 weeks; same happened with a cd baby order...) a transporter would be nice;-) ~Reinhard >Let me ask you all, are you giving away your second copies of COURIER for >the holidays, or what? > >- Charlie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Dec 2001 21:17:58 -0000 From: "Dave McKay" Subject: [RS] How Many Orders? Charlie asked: >Let me ask you all, are you giving away your second copies of COURIER for >the holidays, or what? My second copy is going to my brother-in-law. I hooked him on Shindell in 1999 when I made up a mix tape covering my US summer vacation that year (from Jody Blackwell in Boston, through Falcon Ridge, to Peter Mulvey and Beth Amsel in Bellows Falls). He particularly liked "the Hallowe'en song"! Sparrows Point, Reunion Hill and STP followed at subsequent gift-giving opportunities! For the record, harking back to a topic of a few weeks back, the Bellows Falls concert with Peter and Beth was one of the highlights of that trip, and Charlie was a gracious, genuine and welcoming host. But it really was the case that, of the top five weird things that happened to Katrin, myself, and Peter Knight when we were buddying around pre and post Hillsdale, six of them occurred in Bellows Falls! >BTW, Charlie..... any significance to the numbers > 2, 12, 10, 20, 26, 1, 1, 1?? Well, if you take them as positions of the letters in the alphabet, you get Bljtzaaa, which I do believe is the region of Kosovo in which You Stay Here is set ... They're certainly not all prime numbers, like the ones in Peter Mulvey's Trouble With Poets ... which weren't all prime number either! I Ordered 4 Couriers. 1 Courier and 1 Sonora Sessions for me. 3 Couriers and 1 Sonora Sessions for my family. They all love Shindell but are behind the 8-ball on purchases of his music so I try to fill the void. Music is my favorite gift to give. My parents CD library has been all but built by my Christmas gifts over the past 15 years. Who else thinks music is the best Christmas gift to give? Bill - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
