Just, just sublime. Best live album I think I've ever heard. Makes me really wonder what Dar Williams' record people were thinking by releasing "Out There." This was a huge mistake in my opinion. Richard has shown how well it can be done. Kudos to Jim Olsen and Signature and all the rest for a TRULY masterful job. And to Richard, of course, for, well, providing us with some wonderful music to listen to through the holidays. Man, I am LOVING this CD. The live version of "Nora" and "Reunion Hill" is worth the price alone. I've just decided that this record is all I'm giving as Christmas presents this year. This record MUST BE HEARD!!! BY EVERYONE! Gonna do my part. Are you talking production, song selection, venue, performance, or what? Just curious - I value your opinion. Or am I too naive to be missing the obvious (don't answer that)? I think "Out There" is pretty good (except for the screaming teenagers). If you didn't dislike Ellis Paul so much, we could throw that live cd into the comparison :-) Although I think "Courier" is excellent, I think Richard's voice is a little nasally on some of the songs, and I admit the song selection wouldn't have been my choice. I adore "Sonora Sessions". Hopefully this minor critique won't bring the wrath of God or Khan or anyone else on me. I really didn't expect much of it, going by the one track that was available on the website prior to the release. I was expecting something really poppy and glossy and too obviously mass market oriented. but hey, I like it. It captures the essence of a Dar concert. the only complaint I have is that there are no new songs on it though it was recorded during a time when she already had new material. But that was probably a conscious choice and I can live with it :)All in all: Not one for top ten best albums of all times-list, but a good one nevertheless.
