Nah, it's too far fetched... Now a play about your biker chat room...that's the ticket. Good to see the list active again. Just wanted to say that I first listened to "I Am" after getting home late from a long day, totally exhausted. I plopped, blocked everything out and put on the headphones. At first it was just very soothing. Then gradually I started to sense this sort of gentle rocking. ..."like some old crone rocking the cradle, swathed in sweet garments, bending aside,..."(Whitman) (Close your eyes and listen. Can you feel it?) Didn't even try to attach any meaning. Too tired. Just let myself feel as if I Am a small part of it all... I think that's what Richard tried to do for all of us. Shelley Loud! loud! loud! Loud I call to you, my love! High and clear I shoot my voice over the waves, Surely you must know who is here, is here, You must know who I am, my love... (Out of the Cradle Endlessly Rocking---Whitman) Now we have met, we have look'd, we are safe, Return in peace to the ocean my love, I too am part of that ocean my love, we are not so much separated... The album Michael Smith's "Michael, Margaret, Pat & Kate" - an autobiography in song, and it doesn't matter if it's his own self-released version [1994] or the Wind River reissue [1999]. Except that the latter includes the engaging "growing up in 1950's America" doo-wop delight "Little Falls." Widening the issue to the "most heartrending song," I'd offer.............. Mary Margaret O'Hara's six minute epic "Dark Dear Heart" which is only available on the 1994 album "Puerto Angel" by the The Henrys. 1994 seems to have been "a very good year" Arthur Wood. ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V3 #420 ***********************************
