Subject: [RS] once again: dreams ov cover songs

hello everyone,

earlier this summer a friend took me to see, among others, Tom Russell 
in concert and ever since then I am going through a phase of severe Tom 
Russell-addiction :)  and that brings me back to a topic we've 
discussed a couple of times here before: songs that seem perfect for 
Richard to cover. In line with disaster songs: Tom Russell's Big Water. 
Think about it, wouldn't Richard's voice just be perfect for that song? 
I'd love to hear him sing that one! And I could easily list a few more 
Tom Russell songs I'd add to the covers list, in fact, I think I'd like 
to hear them playing together, now that would be something!

I'll second Katrin's opinion on that one . . . in fact, I'd love to see 
Richard cover just about anything on Tom's "Cowboy Real" album . . . which 
happens to include, by the way, the best version of "Sonora's Death Row" I'd 
ever heard (until Richard's, that is).  "The Basque" and "Claude Dallas" are 
two other songs I'd kill to hear Richard cover.

If you like Richard (and anyone here who doesn't, please turn in your 
membership card and secret decoder ring), I unhesitatingly recommend this CD.
