Richard is doing far fewer shows, but for better money. So far, the economic impact of the move has been negligible, as his popularity has been increasing, and the upward trend started with CRY3, and continued with PATERSON has continued to carry him along. Expenses rise, in that he can't 'drive home' after a gig anymore, and he rents more cars and has the flights from/to Argentina to pay for, but his net has been increasing, too. As Bill Morrissey wrote, "You got motels & planes now, not couches and Fords/ And they'll pay through the nose for the same old three chords." Graham asks... > OK - I'll bite (and apologies, if this has come up before, and I missed it) > - - IS Richard doing shows in Argentina? Ah, but doesn't the question pique the curiosity? Hard to tell, hard to tell. But just think... if one had a song that one wanted to put on a live cd, but didn't have a recording from any of the continental US live shows that really nailed it, how _handy_ it would be to have a mysterious live version surface, rumored to have been recorded at a smoky cafe in Buenos Aires... - - The Enigmatic Mr. Hunter ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 09:32:36 -0400 From: jcolb Subject: [RS] mountain stage set list What songs did rs play on Mountain Stage? jpc in sc pa where mountain stage and austin city limits are not carried, sniff sniff... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 10:10:18 EDT From: Rongrittz@aol.com Subject: Re: [RS] Richard Queries >> But just think... if one had a song that one wanted to put on a live cd, but didn't have a recording from any of the continental US live shows that really nailed it, how _handy_ it would be to have a mysterious live version surface, rumored to have been recorded at a smoky cafe in Buenos Aires... << Cool . . . we were all wondering what version of "Blame It on the Bossa Nova" he was going to put on the live album. ;-) RG ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 13:42:22 -0400 From: Howie Subject: Re: [RS] Richard Queries At 10:10 AM 5/21/2001 -0400, RG wrote: > >> But just think... if one had a song that one wanted to put on a live > cd, but didn't have a recording from any of the continental US live shows > that really nailed it, how _handy_ it would be to have a mysterious live >version surface, rumored to have been recorded at a smoky cafe in Buenos >Aires... << > >Cool . . . we were all wondering what version of "Blame It on the Bossa >Nova" he was going to put on the live album. ;-) Ya mean it's NOT going to be "Smoky Jose's Cafe"? - -Howie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 21:38:44 +0100 From: "Dave McKay" Subject: [RS] Richard Queries > >> But just think... if one had a song that one wanted to put on a live cd, > but didn't have a recording from any of the continental US live shows that > really nailed it, how _handy_ it would be to have a mysterious live > version surface, rumored to have been recorded at a smoky cafe in Buenos > Aires... << > > Cool . . . we were all wondering what version of "Blame It on the Bossa > Nova" he was going to put on the live album. ;-) So rumours of the live CD being titled "Her Name Was Lola" are thus spurious? :-) Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 18:14:15 -0400 From: jcolb Subject: [RS] lowell, but not mass. > From: Rongrittz@aol.com > Subject: [RS] Face of Appalachia. > > Of course, if I'd actually looked CLOSER at the liner notes, I would have > realized that Julie didn't WRITE the damn song . . . I had to slow down to 55 to avoid being too far South before Richard came on. He seemed in good spirits (not "miserable" as he described it at Bethlehem a couple of weeks ago) and did Next Best Western, Transit (appropriate for my situation as I was being passed by 7812 cars per song), Reunion Hill and Arrowhead (with the Mtn Stage Band). Anybody heard if Sonora's Death Row is definitely going to be on the live album? Steve who is really bummed he couldn't be at Buddy/Julie Miller's show at the Bottom Line last weekend. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 May 2001 19:08:32 EDT From: Sdgold60@aol.com Subject: [RS] mountain stage there is a web site for mountain stage where the listing for all your favorite station that also stream it on line have it.. the shows are repeated.. i heard one on FUV, XPN and UMB ... the same show.. on the radio... you can get mountain stage on WFUV.org on fridays at 2:00pm NYTIME i mean EST on WFUV.org.
