I will someday hear Richard sing 'The Weather' live. As Jim said, we were treated to a fine, impromptu version of 'The Weather' in the lovely hamlet of Glen Rock, NJ by the noted bluesman Slim Jim DADGAD. However, the holy grail remains an elusive target, and I shall not rest until Richard's spirit is so weakened and beaten down by my incessant harangues that he finally concedes, and plays the damn thing. Next chance, the Turning Point on 8/24. Maybe by the 10:00 show he'll relent. Now, isn't that what being a true, loyal fan is all about? Gene F. Oh, like that Willie Nelson song? - -- john andrew clary "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. Chris Smither first played it for me when we were on the road a few months back and I subsequently drove him batty, wanting to hear the first track, "What It Is", over and over again (SUCH a great song). Definitely one of my Top 10 albums of last year. Also, as weird timing would have it, just yesterday, Peter Mulvey wrote up a "musing" for his website, singing the praises of Knopfler and this very album. http://www.petermulvey.com/musings.html Kerry :) NP: Oh, guess. =========================================================== Kerry Bernard kerry@younghunter.com Young/Hunter Management 781.643.2773 (ph) 350 Mass Ave, #230 781.643.0416 (fax) Arlington, MA 02474 http://www.younghunter.com =========================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 May 2001 19:34:06 -0400 From: "edward dupas" Subject: Re: [RS] wagner dodge <> When a large group of individuals dedicate significant amounts of their free time to discussing every facet (almost) of another individuals life it inevitably gets down to their mode of transportation.
