He has some with Ann Mayo and Ed trickett, too. I love "hearth and Fire." "Bay of Fundy." "don't mind the wet and cold, I only mind the growing old" Go online, surely you'll find more. Also Gordon Bok is an incredibly STORY-TELLEr (like someone else) and I have "Peter Kagan and the Wind" which is a very long yarn. I seem to recall them doing "farewell" concerts recently. they used to play a fair bit in Connecticut, churches, coffeehouses. Large crowds, but that kind of acoustic venue. Also I bet if you go to any of those library or public radio sales, they will have old vinyls of theirs. lisa davis ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 May 2001 12:03:06 -0400 From: "Gene Frey" Subject: [RS] New Stuff Hey you guys, New stuff, eh?.... The new David Gray is excellent. It's called Lost Songs, and it's a bunch of stuff, supposedly, that wasn't commercial enough for his attempted mainstream breakthrough, White Ladder. Glen Phillips of Toad The Wet Sprocket has a solo release jsut out called Abulum. I really like it. Much more personal than the Toad stuff, but with the great pop hooks we remember. Ron G. finally got through to me about Lori McKenna, and I'm glad he did. I picked up both of her CDs the same day, and they're both good stuff. Although the new R.E.M. isn't due in stores until 5/15, my local record shop had it in yesterday. I only got through a couple of tracks so far, but I think it will be a keeper. Rolling Stone loved it. See some of you at the Lucy show at the Brokerage Wednesday. It is, right? Right?! - --V P.S. In honor of this vernal weather, "Spring/Summer Reel" has been in heavy rotation. Ahhh. Heaven knows he didn't play the whole song . . . I read the article and was very surprised that no mention was made of her being a 1/3 of Cry, Cry, Cry. There was no mention of the group at all! I found that very surprising. Otherwise, it's a pretty good article. It listed all of her cd's, I would've thought the Cry cd would have been listed as well. Janet Yahoo! Dar has sold out and forgotten Richard and Lucy. Next, she'll be performing for W at the white house. ;-) Norman, with tongue firmly planted in cheek. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 May 2001 23:46:44 -0400 From: "edward dupas" Subject: Re: [RS] airing dirty linen <> Alright, lets keep politics off the list...no need to alienate our conservative members.
