See the problem was I didn't like ANYTHING they played anymore. But one day it all became clear to me why; I am not a fifteen year old boy! So I cut the chord I had begun in fifth grade. Now, because I am in LA I essentially have no radio station. The public stations here will occasionally play something I like, but they are very focused on multi-ethnic world music more so than folk. And there are a few folk related programs, but nothing I can tune to 24/7. So I am definitely jealous of your access to great music all the time. Of course eventually we will be listening to the internet stations in our cars. That will be so cool! I will have to say though that it is comforting to no longer follow popular music much. I know that my singer songwriters may go in slightly different directions occasionally, but they will never sacrifice quality altogether. I feel like I have happened on musical nirvana and not only have I found it, but I can stay as long as I like. Thank you all for sending me in some great musical directions. I was looking on the folkways site, and couldn't find it on the numerical list, but a title search was finding it on ff 808- which DIDN'T match 808 on their list... and the answer I got from fast folk didn't answer my question. They assure me, btw, that they are working on getting the original vinyl only versions transferred to cd for purchase, possibly on a custom-burned basis. If things were like the way they were, artists like Richard, Dar, Ellis Paul, etc. would be selling hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of albums and would be appearing on the Grammys. The irony is that there's so many good singer/songwriters out there that no one has heard of, outside of a small circle of friends.
