Leave it to Vanessa to find Grover's dark night of the soul.... .....Carol "I Rule!!" ~ Lester Burnham in American Beauty ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Dec 2000 10:16:01 -0500 (EST) From: Gwen Subject: [RS] Richard and duets > May be predictable, but how about David Crosby? He's such a great > harmonist. I second that. I think Richard and David would be a terrific match. Me, I've always thought Richard sounded uncannily like Tom Paxton. I'm not too nuts about Tom's recent word, but I would die to hear the two of them collaborate on Goodwin, Schwerner and Chaney (does anyone know where to get a copy of that? my dad's sung it to me, but so many of Tom's old albums are out of print) or maybe Lyndon Johnson Told the Nation. I think this seed was planted in my mind when I heard Richard's voice on the Cry Cry Cry version of Last Thing on My Mind... wow, Apropos of nothing, I wanted to thank you all for your wonderful posts. I've only been on the list for a few months (and I have to admit I joined it because Emily told me it was, for all practical purposes, the Dave and Tracy list), but my appreciation of Richard's music has grown so much since I've been here! It's the same thing that happens to me when I see a great concert by someone I'd only heard recorded: I went back and re-listened to things that hadn't grabbed me the first time around, and they seized me by the collar and said, "Appreciate me!" Now Richard's CDs have definitely knocked my socks off. Thankful and sockless, Gwen ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V2 #378 ***********************************
