Well it turns out that there is a song with a very similiar melody - at least to my ear. I have heard this song cause my roomates sister sang it in church and we have a recording of it. So I asked her - who's song is this? And she said.... HANSON! >> You know those Millers, they keep trying for their big break on MTV. ;-) Re: "Tanglewood Tree". Thanks for the suggestions but that's not it. It's not that TT reminds me of another song, it's that the song seems so familar. I can't explain it... it's like it's of another era. I'm more the speed of Serrano's, which is downstairs from the Tin Angel. Lifelong area resident, never set foot in Bookbinders. Deb __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My Love Will Follow You appears on the 1995 release Your Love And Other Lies, which predates the Hanson track by two years. So if anything, Hanson was influenced by Buddy Miller ... Hey, it could happen! :-) Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Oct 2000 10:37:04 +0200 From: Katrin.Uhl@t-online.de (Katrin Uhl) Subject: [RS] Fly on a plane Gene wrote: > > By the way, I just got 'Big League Babe,' the Christine Lavin tribute. > Richard's cover of 'Fly on a Plane' is sort of different for him, > but I like > it. Glad you mention this, I got that album last weekend and meant to post about that very song, but somehow I forgot about it over the week. I don't know why, but had I heard that song without knowing that Richard sings it, I don't think I would have guessed the singer. Which is very odd, I've always thought I could detect Richard's voice within an instant, I mean, it's so distinctive, it's hard to confuse with any other voice. But somehow Richard on that song just doesn't sound like Richard to me. Very odd. Anyway, this might be a stupid question, but I've gotta ask it: is it just my CD, or does that song end very sudden (which would go perfectly fine with the lyrics, but I'm just not sure if it's intentional or a scratch in my CD)? alright, off to start the weekend, Katrin - -------------------------------------------------------- - If I didn't dream I'd be dead - Peter Mulvey (all in good fun) ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V2 #288 ***********************************
