I can't see why RS doesn't play CTM more often. He has really made it his. >> I have to admit that I like Richard's version of CTM on SNP much more than Dar's own version on TGW. Both renditions are emotional and stunning, but Richard's voice really does soar on this one. And like John C. and Pat P. I too am curious as to why he has steadfastly refused to perform CTM of late. Pat suggests there's something rotten in Denmark. I'd have to agree. And by the way, after listening to The Green World about 10 times all the way through, I DO see places where harmonies with Richard and/or Lucy could easily have worked. This is not a criticism in any way--I ADORE TGW, it may be Dar's best record to date. I am merely making an observation and nothing more. Sure harmonies with Richard and/or Lucy could have worked. They are both experienced harmony whores with great voices. The thing is, their harmonies could work with just about any album of this genre, and that's a tribute to Richard and Lucy. Dar just spent a long amount of time working closely with both of them, and IMHO helped their careers immensely. TGW is Dar's vision, and I don't see why there is any reason to see anything into it being hers alone. Jeff ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Aug 2000 09:47:06 -0500 From: "David E. Info and directions are in the "News" section of www.richardshindell.com. Thanks in advance! So if I put those flyers up around my town, will Richard come play a show? :-) << Hey, I think you're on to something here. Why don't you promote a European tour? Richard has said he wants to go back, but he'd want more than one show. You could open your own "field" office, book the shows, sell the tickets. I'm sure Drake would love the help =) My new mantra: Post it and He will come... Post it and He will come... Post it and He will come... I'm gonna post 1000 of them with Drake's number and a bunch of dates, but no venue. Well I don't know what's up with Dar/Lucy/Richard, but he still seems very supportive of her. When chatting with him about his playing "Calling the Moon." I said, "I haven't heard Dar's version yet, but I can't imagine it could be better than your's." He bristled at my comment and said it was Dar's song and that her version should surprise us. It was said with the tone of : "don't doubt, MY FRIEND." Which of course was not really what I had in mind, just to tell him how much I loved his version. I still can't imagine hers will be better. I should know in a week or so! Buy anyways, he seemed very loyal from where I was standing. I really think we should not add flame to this particular fire. It is not positive or helpful to the artists involved. If you really think Dar's gone Hollywood, don't buy her CD. But I bet those who doubt Dar don't doubt her enough to not buy her CD!
