The sound was cohesive, and Paul Putnam's guitar was nothing short of outstanding. We got there at 6:30, and could hear the band doing their sound check. I heard snippets of "Confession", and "Beyond The Iron Gate" Mary Gauthier (sp?) opened, and she was better than I expected. Her songs ranged from being a tomboy, Karla Faye Tucker to other subjects. I hope to see her again. Shortly thereafter, Richard and band came out, and a special guest arrived midway through the set. The band performed: Confession Kenworth Of My Dreams Abuelita You Stay Here Fisherman Wisteria Reunion Hill (RS solo) After Reunion Hill, Richard introduced my favorite folk singer, Lucy Kaplansky! Next Best Western The Ballad Of Mary Magdalene (Lucy on lead vocals) Arrowhead Are You Happy Now Shades Of Gray Transit (without Lucy) E: Sing Me Back Home (with Lucy) I was hoping to hear "Love Hurts". Eric, Ron - did they do it during the 10:30PM show? Overall, and great show. It was nice to see Richard perform with a band after many solo performances. I'll see him again at the Mansion in Middletown, NY on 09.10.00 Paul ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V2 #172 ***********************************
