I keep hearing these images in lyrics but it doesn't mean anything to me. I have guessed that maybe the Southern Cross is the Confederate Flag, but if so what is the Northern Cross? >> It's in the stars, man. City slicker needs to get out from under the lights and take a look. :-) The Northern Cross is a portion of the constellation Cygnus, the swan. The Southern Cross is the constellation Crux. This one can only be seen in the Southern Hemisphere, but you can see Cygnus up north. Happy stargazing! :-) SMOKEY Embrace what you have in common, celebrate what sets you apart It takes more than the color that you find on a palate to turn humanity into an art... -Ellis Paul ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Jul 2000 18:26:38 -0700 From: Laurel Rezeau Subject: [RS] Re: Palo Alto concert and t-shirts John Clary wrote: > I plan on getting there for lunch. It's an 8 p.m. show but we're going to make a day of it. The publicity (sent to us on the list and in Musi-Cal) gives the time as 6:30. Did the women you talked to say it was 8:00? 6:30 is early, but I thought the idea was to bring picnic suppers and eat during the concert. I'm definitely going, and was going to try to get there by 6:00 at the latest, but if it really doesn't start until 8:00, that would be a bit too early! Anyone else besides John and Peter going to be there? As for the t-shirt, I sort of feel I shouldn't say anything since I didn't during the earlier discussions, but the fleur-de-lis motif doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't think it's particularly interesting visually, and OASOFDL isn't one of my favorite Richard songs (no flames please, I know lots of people love that song!). I know it's a tough decision, and there were a lot of conflicting suggestions, but I was really hoping the fleur-de-lis wouldn't make it into the final cut! - --Laurel ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2000 22:53:12 -0700 From: John Andrew Clary Subject: Re: [RS] Re: Palo Alto concert and t-shirts Sure enough Laurel, Musi-cal says 6:30, so I'm either confusing it with Wednesday or she told me wrong. I wrote it down as 8 with directions to the park. Sorry.
