Well I had an interesting Musical Weekend. On Friday a friend took me to see Yes and Kansas at the Universal Amphitheater and on Saturday I went by myself to see Erin McKeown and Kevin Campbell at Exile Books and Music. It was quite a contast, at one of the concerts an old guy with ten guitars stunned the audience. At the other concert a tiny young woman with one guitar delighted the audience. At one concert a guy spilled beer on me and I was sitting next to a guy who got up to buy beer about 27 times. At the other show I was sitting in an Easy chair, totally relaxed petting a dog named Miles. Both evenings had their merits, but I pick Miles and Erin every time! If you get a chance to see Erin McKeown, do it. That girl can sing, play and charm! Her opener, Kevin Campbell was great too. He doesn't sing about Wisteria, but he does sing about Honeysuckle. And he writes really sensual songs. You really sensed his passion for life. If you are in LA check out Exile Books and Music. They are one of very few places in this neon city where you can find folk music and poetry. Some of them didn't come out well, but I thought I'd upload them for everyone to see first, and then I'll take some of them down in a few weeks. http://www.members.home.net/larrycampbell2000/photok.htm http://www.members.home.net/larrycampbell2000/photol.htm http://www.members.home.net/larrycampbell2000/photom.htm Joy ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V2 #136 ***********************************
