He sold out of all his new CDs that he brought with him on tour in Chicago...hurrah for him!<< Rebecca and Lindsay B.....did you make the show Saturday Night in St. Paul? Rebecca should have cuz you already had bought yer tickets but you, Lindsay, you would have to have come in your choir robe! Wasn't that a great bunch of songs? Without a T-shirt or getting up to make an awkward announcement how is one to know who the listers are? My party of six opted to go off for a nightcap before relieving the babysitters so I couldn't hang out to see if Richard came out to greet fans. He had simply vanished by the time we went out the back door (though he might have just been putting his beloved new guitar in a safe place)....did anyone hang out and hear anything new from him? I had a promotional copy of the c2000 promotional CD "Spring" that I got at the KFAI benefit sale (for a dollar!) and I though it would be a hoot if he signed it....oh well! I was surprised that Richard made no mention of his "dual life" between USA and Argentina in the between song banter. Is he still going to move there? Has he already moved his family there and is merely touring here in the States for a month at a time, then a month off down in the southern hemisphere? His tour schedule seems to look like that..... Inquiring minds want to know! It's the season finale and we're told the song comes at a very "climactic" moment in the show (ooo!). The show is on the WB Network at 9pm but, of course, you should check your local listings, just to be sure. http://www.petermulvey.com Hope you can tune in and/or set your VCR! I've been reading for a few weeks and attempted to spend some time in the archives. I will try not to burden you with a huge list of asked-to-death questions and I'll wait to bludgeon you with my opinions until we get to know each other a little =). I tried to use the majordomo's "who" command to see how many of us there are but it seems to be disabled. I have not been aware of Richard for very long but I am moved by his songs. I feel like an evangelist, sharing Richard with my large circle of musician friends. I live in California and am envious of those of you who get to hear him live so often. My first chance to hear him live will be July in Sebastopol and I can't wait. But I can't seem to find where to purchase a ticket. This is a UMC show but the church office knows nothing about it and directed me to the radio station that's promoting it. They have not returned my calls. Can I safely assume that I can show up at the door and get in? I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and my eyesight is not that of a young man anymore, so I need to sit close -- does this make sense to any of you? Are any of you in CA? You can find more info about it on his webpage (Kerry, there's something about it on there, isn't it?). But he has promised to be back to tour the States, so don't worry. :-) Katrin ____________________________________________ we come to pass not to stay all that matters anyway is what will follow you Peter Mulvey (all the way home) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 May 2000 10:04:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Karl Young Subject: [RS] greetings from a new guy Welcome to the list John. I'm fairly new to the list myself, but I've been a fan of RS for many years. I live in CA also (Santa Cruz; I'm guessing you're out near Benecia/Maritnez?). I'm probably going to skip the Sebastapol show, though the church venue is tempting; we'll see. If I were you, I would keep after the radio station. It would be a real bummer if you didn't get tickets. As far as seating, it most likely will be general admission, so show up early and get in front of the line. In my experience at shows like this, an hour before showtime willo pretty much assure you of a front row seat. If I decide to make the trek to Sebastapol, I'll drop a note to the list beforehand. Maybe we can hook up there. -karl "Clary, John (CLRY)" wrote: > > Hi everyone. I've been reading for a few weeks and attempted to spend some > time in the archives. Are you going to the Santa Cruz or Palo Alto shows in July? I'm tempted to go to those too but they're middle of the week! I live in Lathrop (Stockton) and work in San Ramon, so all of these will require a worthwhile drive.
