This article is a perfect example, as it manages to somehow compare Britney, Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair, Jewel and Sheryl together. It makes you wonder if these reviewers even know what they're talking about. So Sheryl made a couple of poppy songs, I disagree that C'mon C'mon's subject matter was targeting 20 year old girls (being 23 myself I don't neccessarily like people assuming that teens and people under 25 all love Britney). You have Soak up the Sun, Hole in my Pocket (which actually is a sad song with an upbeat tempo), You're an Original, maybe Diamond Road...however no one seems to mention songs like Weather Channel, Abilene... it's as if 90% of the reviewers don't bother to listen to the whole thing before they write up a review. Maybe I'll get flamed for it, but I kind of like Avril Lavigne. Why does the word pop make people so nervous? It's like you have elitist types who label anything popish as crap, and it makes you almost embarrased to say, "Hey, you know, I like Soak up the Sun". SBC Yahoo!
