Crow wore a T-shirt reading "War Is Not the Answer" to the American Music Awards in January and sported another reading "I Don't Believe in Your War, Mr. Bush!" on "Good Morning America" in December. At the Grammys, Crow, who told the Associated Press that "I think war is based in greed, and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow," was decked out in a "No War" guitar strap and peace-sign necklace. Back in the mid-1990s, however, Crow was a real G.I. Jane when Bill Clinton sent U.S. troops to the Balkans. At the time, Crow traveled to the region with then-First Lady Hillary Clinton to show her support and joined a USO tour to entertain the troops, reports NewsMax.com. "Once over there I felt extremely patriotic," Crow told USA Today in April 1996. "I don't ever want to play for a regular audience again . . . [only troops] enduring real duress for the cause of peace." Crow, whom the Toronto Sun termed "Hillary Clinton['s] sidekick in Bosnia," went on to write a song called "Redemption Day" condemning America's apathy toward Bosnia. "It's apples and oranges," insists Crow's rep. "But whatever the cause, she'll always support U.S. military personnel." also this small mention: BACK TO PARIS THE future of Hollywood hotspot Les Deux Cafi is in question now that owner Michelle Lamy is running off to Paris to marry hot designer Ric Owens. Lamy, 60, opened Les Deux seven years ago and since then it's been a favored haunt of Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Courtney Love and their ilk, and a highlight of L.A.'s dull dining scene. Owens, 41, is the toast of Paris now that he's been named head designer at Revillon. Without the personable Lamy around to oversee things, regulars are wondering if Les Deux will remain tres chaud. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 03 Mar 2003 18:09:00 -0500 From: xmystery79@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl Crow in Page Six again, not too good though In a message dated 3/3/2003 5:46:53 PM Eastern Standard Time, Diannesty writes: > com. Although the article does make a point (I tend to think a lot of Sheryl's anti war statements come from her political leanings as a strong democrat, plus she's never been a fan of George W. Bush), she mentions she supports troops keeping the peace. Bosnia was a situation where innocent people were being slaughtered by the thousands. It was a U.N. peace keeping effort. This war wouldn't be the same circumstances. ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V6 #41 ********************************
