George is absolutely right, and I'd add that we shouldn't just talk about how no-one's posting any more. While reading this, it occurred to me to ask how people like 'C'Mon C'Mon' NOW that it's been out and gone for a while. All of Sheryl's albums have somehow grown on me, but for some reason 'C'Mon C'Mon'hasn't. Anyone else feel the same way or different? I agree with you that the list started to decline before you took over, but I think that's because Lisa no longer had the time to be an effective moderator. Due to her new job or whatever, she couldn't run the list the way she would like to. That's my whole point. If someone isn't willing or doesn't have the time to put a continued and active interest into a mailing list, it's not going to happen. You say you don't have the time. That's totally cool. I understand that. Anybody would. That's why I don't moderate any lists. If I did, I would want to do a really good job and I'm just not willing to spend the amount of time it would take to be effective. I'm really trying not to be mean spirited and I'm certainly not looking for you to resign or anything radical like that. I just felt compelled to state my opinion on the status of this list. I guess I'd just like to see you try a little harder. That's all. We can all get all of the Sheryl Crow info we need on her official site/forum, but I like the mailing list format as an option and would like to see more conversation, info, debate, etc, here on this list. And hey, I read your posts on the SC forum. You can be pretty darn harsh and opinionated yourself :) Chris ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Jan 2003 21:35:53 EST From: EAO77@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Is anyone on this list anymore? I'm still here too. I have gotten lazy about posting. I think the Forum has kindof taken the place of the list. I never go to the Forum, however, it seems like too much work. I like the list even when it isn't very active. Erin : ) In a message dated 1/8/03 4:22:00 AM Pacific Standard Time, brandys7@yahoo.com writes: > I'm here. I took a five hour car trip by myself a couple weeks after purchasing the cd and decided to give it another chance. I ended up listening to it the whole time and now I really love it. I often chuckle when listening to Diamond Road - if it was anyone else singing it I would not like it, but because it is Sheryl I gave it a chance and now I do. I have never really warmed up to the Globe Sessions. Erin : ) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Jan 2003 21:51:01 -0500 From: "Brooke J." Subject: [sheryl-crew] The 1st time in AWHILE!!!! I just wanna say that this was the first time in a LOOONG time that I'd actually had half of my mailbox filled with messages from the "Sheryl Crew" list. And let's just say I was happy!!!! =0) I've enjoyed this list for many years now....and I definitely wouldn't want to lose it. But like Erin stated, I know personally I've gotten tooo lazy to write anything. I usually post on the Official site's fan forum....and visit that everyday...I don't know if that's really any easier...lol Brooke "life is what happens while you're making plans..." ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! And since not much gets said here, I feel rather out of it. Well, being on the other side of the world where hardly anything ever happens doesnt help lol! I do have a question though.... I just turned 30 last month, and a good friend sent me tape of some Sheryl's performances over the past year. It was really awesome except for the fact that I think SUTS aint that great a song and that it was more a throwaway song than AIWD, and the tape has like 20 versions of that song!!!! oK, the question is this... on the Jay Leno show after Sheryl performs with Liz Phair, Sheryl makes a joke about sending Liz a bed. From the way Jennifer Love Hewitt reacts, I think it's a follow-up to something she said. Is that right, and if so, can anyone recall what the joke was? And heres a poll topic - how many Grammys will Sheryl get this time, and which ones? cheers! harin ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Jan 2003 23:04:26 EST From: HauntedIcicle@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] old Jay Leno clip and Grammys In a message dated 01/08/2003 10:05:31 PM Eastern Standard Time, Harinder_GREWAL@mcds.gov.sg writes: > Is that right, and if so, can anyone recall what the joke was? > Yep, you're right. I can't remember the exact details of the joke... but I do remember that she said she'd sent some actor a bed because she read that he didn't have one or something. I'll have to dig out my tape to get the specific details. ~Tilly "And I believe something so sacred is something worth this kind of fight.
