The activity of the list is up to the memebers. Right now I'm working, going to school not to mention friends, etc...I would like to see the list active but I just can't baby it or coax people into posting. If they want to post, great. If not, that's fine too. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 7 Jan 2003 23:15:47 -0600 From: "John D. I immediately thought, "Man, would Sheryl do a great cover of this song." Her voice would be really good for it. Anyone else have any "requests"? :-) Maybe we can run a poll somewhere, if there is enough interest. If not, that's fine too. Sorry Phyllis, I disagree. I think a good, fun, active mailing list needs a good moderator. I think if a mailing list is moderated well, the subscribers will post messages. You are the moderator for this list, but you don't do anything with it and you don't have a very upbeat positive attitude. The day that Lisa left and you took over is the day that this list went on life support. This may all seem a bit harsh, but I'm really not trying to be mean. I'm just stating the facts. I like you and I know you're a big Sheryl fan, but you are not a good moderator. Heck, you post messages on the SC fan forum all the time, but you rarely post anything here. Speaking of which, one of the reasons the SC forum is great is because it has an excellent moderator. Of course, the fact that it is linked on the official site doesn't hurt. This list used to be good because Lisa DID "baby" it. She fed it and she kept it clean. She took a very active part in it. She put some work into it. Her efforts sparked interest and made the list fun to be a part of. She also publicized the list. Made people aware of it and encouraged new subscribers. I look at it like this. Lisa left town and you volunteered to water the plants, take care of the animals and clean up their poop. Now the plants are dying and the animals are starving. There. If that doesn't get some activity going on around here, nothing will. And no. I don't want to be the moderator. But if you want guitar tablature for Sheryl's "C'mon, C'mon" album, I'm your man. It looks like we have a little dialogue going again! I think we should all be a little responsible for the list not being active. I've been a member of the list for a couple of years, but i've only posted a few times. Like most lists or forums, there is only a hand full of people that post on a regular basis. So rather than blaming anyone for the list not being active, we should all make a conscious effort to post a little more often. It's funny how a few words can stimulate activity at the list again. Lets keep it going. To all the people who rarely post (like me), why don't we make a special effort to post at least once a week. And to all who posted on a regular basis, thank you for keeping Sheryl's name out there.
