We met Liz (SCOUTtheDOG) at the concert and ran into her again when it was finished. We found out that her and her neighbourfriend Rosa didnt have a hotelroom yet. We had one with 2 double beds at the same hotel Maroon 5 was staying. We saw their tourcamper with the U-haul behind it the morning we arrived in Boston. We had passed a lot of tourbusses actually on our way from Camden, NJ to MA. After Liz finished her 3 hour conversation with Gregg on her cellphone (videotaped by the European division of HildaVision btw lol) we went up to the rooms to get some sleep, so I thought. But nope, apparently when you put a New Yorker and a Jersey girl together in one room youre in for a really long active chat. No offense girls, I had fun. It was like watching a tennismatch. Aimee, Liz, Aimee, Liz.. I think the match was won by Aimee cause Liz hit the bed, while Aimee was still up and about. The morning was fun also, four girls and one bathroomlol. I took a shower at Tom and Daves room cause Dave was getting anxious to leave. When I came back I walked straight into an ironingpartywoohoo! We had some lunch together at Friendlys (because they didnt serve breakfast anymore) and hit the road on our way to Manchester, Vermont. What a great state that is. Beautiful scenery, but what do these people do when they go out?? We didnt see any Blockbusters, no McDonalds, no Tacobell, no Subway, no nothing. We arrived at Hunter Park just in time. We found out from Chris from the Smokestacks, whom we ran into at the Boston show, that they were opening for Sheryl. But I think it was a bit loud for the crowd that came for Sheryl. Mike was playing the keyboards though. I dont think they even noticed that Sheryl came out to sing backup on the same song she did that in BostonShe was wearing a black top and a red squared hotpants and half of hair was bundled in a ponytail on the back of her head. It was a flashback to the eighties! Part 2 follows ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Aug 2002 16:13:40 -0400 From: "Brigitte " Subject: [sheryl-crew] Part 2 Vermont review Part 2 - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - -------- ATTENTION LIZ: In between sets Aimee and I went to check out to see if they had any new merchandise. And they did. A white ribbed beater for girls (one size fits all) with a rainbow on it. At the end a cowgirl (looks like Sheryl) on a horse. Underneath in tiny letters: SHERYL CROW and underneath that one: TOUR 2002. Yep they put a year on it! I hope this is what the merchandise for her solo tour is going to look like, cause I really like it. ON TO THE SHOW: Sheryl came out in a white leather pants with a blue stripe with stars on the side and a white top. Her hair was still the same. Aimee and I stood up to rock away, like we were used to during the other shows. But some folks behind us complained about it. Could you please sit down, cause we cant see anything. My reply: Its a rockshow! I wanna stand up and dance. You should too! We didnt sat down until security told us too. I tried to sit up as straight as I could and just rocked my butt off on the chair. I bet they still didnt see much..lol To annoy them even more we stood up at the end of every song and clapped. During Jims drumsolo for Everday Is A Winding Road, Sheryl: This is when my drummer Jim likes to show off a little. Little reaction from the crowd. You can clap for him, hes doing pretty good! After the song, Sheryl wiped off her face with a towel. I feel like Elvis tonight, laughs. You all wanna catch this towel huh? Im not sure if she said dont wanna catch or all wanna catch though. Sheryl also made a comment about her sitting audience: You guys are so polite! Strums a bit on her guitar. Mumbling: Not in a bad way. Silence and strumming : Oh I was just talking to myself. Yeah right! I said in the direction of the people behind us. Finally during one of the rocking songs, I think it was A Change, a group of girls, leaded by a girl with a cowboyhat, started to dance in the isle. Aimee and I took our chance and ran up to the front section (we were in the last section before the lawn) to join them. Peter gave us the thumbs up while he was trying to get everybody else up too by moving his arms up and down. Right in front of the stage some more people starting dancing and we ran over there. While running I moved my arms up and down too at the people in the back section and to my surprise they stood up! Maybe we could apply as crowdworkers..lol Sheryl, in between one of the solos of A Change: Lets move your bodies and get sweaty. When people finally did: Oh youre alive!. Unfortunately the slow songs started again and we had to go back to our seats. But for All I Wanna Do we did the same thing again. Sheryl almost messed up a line from There Goes The Neighboorhood. She started the line with I(for I tried dancing on a saturdaynight) but then went into the right lyric for Sunshinesally So it sounded like: I..Sunshinesally For the encore we stayed up there at the front and when Rock n Roll started, a dude pushed Aimee and me right up to the stage in front of Peter, when he saw me taking pictures and we showed him our signed forumshirts. Go girls!. For Aimee it was pretty scary cause Peter almost hit her in the face with his guitar at one point. He was giving us indications with his finger when he was going to do something worthwhile to take a picture of. Like an incredible jump! I was a bit distracted by the weird stain he had on his jeans. I had to force myself not to point out to it and give him a What in the world is that?!! look. When Sheryl stood up from the pianobench to get on the piano, her sweaty leather pants was all stuck to her legs. Must have felt really uncomfortable! At the end Sheryl got off her piano and thanked the crowd. Thank you all for coming, especially my lovely fans over here, pointing out in our direction. Im not actually sure if she was talking about us, I was still dazed by the whole Peter experience, but Aimee said she was. She shook some hands, one of them was Aimees. She showed me how her handshake felt and Im glad Sheryl didnt shake mine. She has the grip of death! And I need my hands for my work! Jim rolled his drumstick right to Aimee, as he went of stage. One of the roadies handed out some of Sheryls pics, that was nice. She doesnt have her name on it anymore and they arent heart shaped anymore though. Just the blue transparent Gibson USA ones. Right after the concert we drove all night again to drop Aimee off in Baltimore, NJ. After a short stop there, the three of us drove up to Cleveland, Ohio to drop Dave off. After that Tom and I continued our way back to Chicago, Illinois and ate our beloved and treasured Subway again. I had a great time doing this trip. Met some great forumpeeps, made some new buddies, got a dreamlike backstage experience and now have seen Sheryl Crow live 7 times (pretty good for a European girl I think). Though everything looked good on my computer, I was getting complaints from a few who said that the tabs were scrambled and impossible to read. I recently bought a new computer, and to my dismay, saw exactly what they were talking about. Now, not everyone experienced this problem, but if it ain't perfect, I'm not going to be happy with it. I plan on putting up a new site sometime in the very near future and I'll post the address for everyone. In the meantime, if anyone wants copies of the songs I've tabbed from "C'mon, C'mon" sent to them via regular mail, and is willing to cover the cost of paper, mailing supplies and postage, I'd be happy to take care of you. Send me a private message if interested and we can go from there.
