Only the first few lines showed up. Let's try again: Im almost a week late with this, but I still wanted to tell you about the shows that I went to with some other forumpeeps (Tom (tav2367), Aimee (sunshinesally02) and Dave (DaveP)). I will just put down some highlights: I dont remember exactly what happened on which show, but I can trust you that all that I observed did happen at some point during these 4 shows I went to. If I mixed them upsorry! VIRGINIA BEACH, VA: The 4 hour drive from Baltimore to V. Beach took us 7 hours unfortunately, but we were there just in time for Train. I really dont like Train live. They seem so uninterested in playing at this Jeep tour. They do pull off a great cover of Zeppelins Rumble On though. The reason I ended up taking the trip to the States to see some Sheryl shows was because I ended up with a seat in the last row of the Orchestra section through the official site presale. I was just playing around with it and found out that Tom was going to this show and besides that Tom Petty was also touring. So I saved up all my cash, didnt buy any new clothes this whole summer, worked three jobs and cut down on all my extra expenses to pay for this trip. I could tell you it was well worth it! Time for Sheryl. My seat turned out to be really good. It wasnt front row off course, but I was right in the middle and could see everybody on stage. I smuggled my ticket to Aimee and we shared my seat. Which was risky at some times cause it was the last seat of the row. During Las Vegas everybody sat down and we kept standing. Holding our forumshirts up and doing the backingvocals with the accompanying dance (hold your arms up on the right side and start going to the left with the rhythm of the aahaaahaaaa). Thats when Tim noticed us. He gave us a weird move and a mini wave while holding his mike. After the song he walked up to Peter, tapped him on the shoulder and yelled FORUMMEMBERS (Aimee noticed this with the binoculars) in his ear and pointed us out. During the next song we also got some smiles and waves from Peter. During Strong Enough the securityguards next to us started pairdancing. How weird was that to seelol More weirder was the fight that broke out during The Difficult Kind just 3 rows in front of us. A beachball kept being bumped through the crowd and apparently some guy hit another guy in the face and they started fighting. At first we thought that the guards were after us, but they had better things to do off course. One guy tried to grab one of the guards, a chair was broken and it took about 8 guards to carry them out literally. Tim was watching the whole thing and seemed very interested in it..lol Sheryl gave the scene one look and then did her best trying not to look at it anymore. You could hear an OHH in her voice when she first noticed it though. Off course Abilene was played during this show. Aimee found out before the show because she talked to the soundguy Arlo and saw it on the setlist. It was great to hear it live with the full band. During the break for the encore Aimee and I moved up to the first 3 rows and sneaked into the empty seats on the very right of the center. When the lights went on we realized how bad these seats actually were. All I could see was Sheryls forehead just above the piano and her bare feet underneath it.lol. I was afraid to stand up and get caught by security cause we werent in the right seats. Off course during Rock n Roll we had a great site on the pianodance. After the show we all walked up to Arlo to ask if we could have one of the setlists. He didnt have them anymore, but he said I could have the one from last night (Jones Beach, NY), which was still on the table. I told him I was from Europe, the Netherlands to be exact and then the weirdest thing happened. He started to talk dutch to me. I hadnt heard any dutch in a week so that was a cool experience for me. Apparently there is a dutch assistant that taught him that. Very cool to find that out! CAMDEN, NJ When we drove down to the venue, at first we thought, why the hell did Sheryl (s people) picked this venue to play? Cause Camden is pretty much a deserted town. But when we walked up to the pavilion we knew. Coming up from the lawn we were treated with a great view on the skyline of Philadelphia! Philadelphia was also the name they used on the visuals during All I Wanna Do. Dave was interviewed for a radiostation when he told them he had seen about 14 shows from this tour already. They also interviewed him and Aimee for the next edition of the Jeep World Outside Magazine. Forumpeeps on their way to stardom! It looked like the pants Sheryl was wearing was a little too tight. She kept sticking her hand between the sides. Also the shoes (same as in Baltimore, the black open sandals with super high heels) didnt look very comfortable to stand on. During Lucky Kid she gripped the mikes stand. According to Aimee, who had the binoculars, she really held on to it for support, cause her armmuscles were showing. After we left Virginia Beach we all talked about that we wanted to hear Weather Channel and the guys needed to teach us how to do backingvocals for LLV in a very drunk way again. Also we wondered why she never says one, two, shake your ass! during EDIWR. We think our car was tapped during that drive, cause she did all those things during this show! Never did during the other shows we went to. How weird is that? LLV was great. Sheryl: Now sing it more drunk, like you had some TEQUILA!! And Peter and Tim singing totally out of key, that was funny. Weather Channel was our last request. Aimee and I were both in different seats in the same row and had Tom (w/ Aimee) and Dave (w/ me) next to us. We both said Weather Channel! to them (not knowing it from eachother) when Sheryl gave a few strums on the guitar before she started the song. No, they said. Its The Difficult Kind. We ended up to be rightlol. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Aug 2002 15:15:07 -0400 From: "Brigitte " Subject: [sheryl-crew] Mixed report of VA, NJ and MA shows (Part 2) MANSFIELD, MA, just the pre-show stuff and our backstage experience: Before the show we had a nice barbecue at Bobs (Bonco) house. I met Sara (susiebabylon), Scott (Scottyrad aka scottie the hottie) and Matt Larson there (sorry dont know your forumnickname). Bobs sons treated us with a cool version of Steve McQueen which turned into The Joker. And another Sheryls song both I forgot which. I have it on videotape though. Bob did a great job on leaving us instructions on how to go to the venue. He didnt do his homework on the seatingchart though, but thats a different story Dave and Aimee had gone to a couple of shows already and went up talking to the people from the JEEP info stand before every show. Now we went to talk them again. Because we apparently were so nice to them, they gave us some V.I.P. passes. It wouldnt get us backstage, but we could get some free drinks and free food they told us. But they ended up giving us a lot more! We went to the 2nd stage to see Doyle Bramhall, because we arrived too late to see him at the previous shows. Couldnt have timed it better. As soon us we had a visual on the stage Sheryl walked right by us with Tim, Mike and Peter and some assistants to take her spot right in front of the stage, a few feet back. She was dressed very casual, baggy cargo pants, printed top, shades and a cowboyhat. Aimee, Sara and I took our spot on her left side and enjoyed the show that Doyle put on. They kept looking at eachother and Sheryl did one hell of a whistle on her fingers at one point. She left almost at the end of the show, but suddenly she was on stage doing backingvocals together with Tim. I didnt catch most of it, because we started talking to Mike and Jim (who also came to watch). We told Jim we were from the fanforum. Oh, these people are so nice, they gave me a getwellcard when I was sick, was the first thing he said. Off course I told him that it was me who put it together and gave it to Chris and I asked him how he was doing now. Im doing fine now. Im glad I had it done before this tour, was Jims answer. They both signed all of our forumshirts and some other things and I told Mike I was from Europe. Mike: Oh, Im from Britain! Me: Yeah, I knooow!. SPECIAL ATTENTION to HAJNI! I also whispered in Jims ear that a girl from Hungary says hi and that she loves him. He was flattered! Aimee and I also told him that we were going to these other shows and all. Jim: Really? If we wouldve known we would have mixed up the setlists a bit. Youre wasting your money! We asked if they were doing Abilene tonight because ScoutTHEDog was here tonight. (or something like that. I dont remember exactly how we asked him) Oh yeah, the Liz thing, Jim replied. They told us that they did do it during the soundcheck but werent sure if they were going to play it because they didnt have any control on that. They knew they were doing Home and Mississippi though. Ok now here comes the GOOD FUNNY HILARIOUS PART: We wanted to pick up that free drink cause it was so hot during the Doyle show with the sun right in our faces. We searched and asked some Staff people and they leaded us to the Backstage Area: Thats where you guys belong. Ok, he must know we thought. It turned out that the V.I.P. and the Backstage Area were separated by a simple gate, that was open most of the time. Mike was walking down there. And he had some conversation with Aimee (A, you can hit me if Im not writing this down correctly) Mike: Are you girls all right, want me to sign something? Got anything more to sign? Aimee, joking: Youre following us And then he started talking to us. What we thought of the band right now. I really like the band at this moment, but I had never seen the old band live though. He told us that Sheryl had done a great job finding these people and that they really clicked well together. I will give you the next few minutes from my perspective, cause I totally had no idea what was going on. Aimee did though. At one point some girl in an bright orange sportsbra and red shorts with sneakers comes walking up to the gate and stands next to Mike. She had her hair rolled up behind her head. Who is she, I thought? Is that Mikes girlfriend? They seem to know eachother. Aimee started talking to her, and she had a little twang in her voice. I couldnt exactly understand what they were talking about. After we went backstage I really had trouble with the english language Spaced out totally. Then Aimee asks this girl to sign her forumshirt. Sure, she said. She starts to lay out the shirt on my back after tapping me on the shoulder You dont mind if I write on your back do you? No, I nodded. Then some thoughts flashed through my mind. Why is this girl signing Aimees forumshirt? She must be somebody important. Then it hit me. OMG thats Sheryl! I think my mouth even fell open out of shock. Aimee told me I had an unforgettable look on my facelol. Yep I can now go into the history as the Sheryl GOOFBALL. The one that stands side by side and still doesnt have a clue who she islol I thanked her for signing my guitar in the Netherlands, I dont know if she caught it though. She seemed a little overwhelmed, or was that me lol. I asked her if we could take a picture with her. Sheryl has she takes two steps backwards while holding her arms on her hips to hold up her sixpack: Uuuuuhuuuuh, I just worked out and I smell funny and look grose, so no sorry! I didnt care, she just gave my favourite Sheryl moment..lol. She told us she had to walk Scout and walked back to get him. Then Aimee and I noticed that her label of the bra was stucking out. We both pointed and yelled at the same time: Sheryl, your label! Another fav Sheryl moment followed. With a twang: Oo, I dont want anybody to see my laaabeeeel, while she puts it back in. She took Scout (what a sweet dog) and ran away through the gate behind which the buses were parked. We finished our chat with Mike. He looked so relaxed, like he had all the time in the world to talk to us..lol He missed home though. He said he was going back for 5 days after the last date. He seemed really happy about that. I told him that I missed him during the European promo stuff. But he explained that he had other stuff to do, cause he also was playing for Oasis. Yeah, we know, and pointed to his shirt. Oh, I dont know why Im wearing that.. laughs and hold his hands across the Oasis name. At that point I noticed that the lowest button of his fly was open. Im always the person who tells everybody immediately when I notice they have something in their nose, if their label is sticking out their clothes, if they smell bad and need to do something about it etc. So I pointed to his fly and said: Your fly is open. Oh thanks, I could get arrested for that!. He puts the cig he was smoking back in his mouth and wrestles with the lowest button. We all know how hard it is to close that one, when you already have buttoned up your pants. We talked some more about Matt and Lorenza and then he went to do something else. When Sheryl came back from her run with Scout we were still talking to Mike. I realize now that we must have been talking to him for a really long time..lol. It looked like she wanted to go back in, the way she had come out (the gate where we were standing with Mike) but she backed out of it, cause 2 girls came running in our direction. She waved and took the backstage entrance. We left after talking some more and went back out and ran into Peter and Tim. Aimee: Peter Tim, Tim Peter, while pointing them out. Hey girls!. We told them that we were at the previous shows also and that we were the girls with the 2 forumshirts. Tim: Oh yeah, I saw you 2 in VABeach with the shirts and the faces right above it and he puts his hands next to his face I told Peter that he was my guitarhero next to Tom Petty. Peter with a really weird accent (where are you from dude?): Well, I always kinda look up to Mike Campbell. (hes the leadguitarist of Tom Petty &The Heartbreakers. We took some more pictures and they told us to move up if we could and ask the securitypeople. We need you guys up there, we dont wanna play for no one!. When Train was playing we saw Sheryl getting her make-up done in her bus. She later did a Q &A for Finesse VIP's. Alot of Finesse girls were pressed up against the gates to see her and hear what she was saying. We saw the guys going back and forth to change clothes. Aimee and I were just sitting on the tables, then we decided to act as the crazy fanatics also and peeked through the holes in the gate. Not much to see though. Sheryl didn't seem that interested in doing this kind of stuff. We ended up seeing Sheryl in 4 different outfits, 3 different hairstyles, got all the bands autographs within the hour... It was an experience I will never never forget! Off course youve already something about the show. It was a really cool set. Aimee got noticed again by Tim and Jim (who threw his drumstick at her), she was closer then I was. Right before Lucky Kid or during that song before (not sure but Aimee told me this), 4 guys in the front section started stripping for her. Tim pointed them out to Sheryl. Ok, this is a new song and I think Im going to start it right over here!, as she bends over and looks at the guys. After Strong Enough she threw some kisses at the guys. Before the encore they rolled in the piano, but they rolled it back in. Sheryl rushed to the stage. Ok, we ran out of time, so I will just leave you with this (Rock n Roll). It was funny. It looked like at one point she tried to get on the piano all the way in the back, but she still had her shoes on. Too bad the Boston crowd missed the pianodance and Safe and Sound. Not that the people in the deadcenter would care though. They kept sitting down. At the beginning of the show I thought that the orchestra pit had to be lower then the rest of the sections, but then I realized that these people were sitting down on their behinds! The sections on the left and right of the center were rocking though! I dont know if the Train website had a better presale or something but with every show we went to of the Jeep tour, a lot of seats in the first few rows ended up empty after Train or during Sheryls show. And security would not let people move up right at the beginning, only during the end. I will write the Manchester VT review later. I was able to get my camera in for all the shows and will scan in some pics also. Hoped you enjoyed reading this!
