I just got my tickets to the show in the mail!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! I'm so excited!!!!! Is anyone else going to the VA Beach show? My mom gets the magazine "Country Weekly" in the mail, and last weeks issue w/Toby Keith on the cover has a Sheryl article in it. It says that she is planning to move to Nashville. It's a good article. Anyone else notice in the guitar world acoustic article that she is wearing a wedding ring? My sister thinks that she is secretly married!!! LOL!!! She looked fabulous and she smiled a lot like she really was having fun, not just faking it. I think she was tired (5th show in a row?) and her voice perhaps a bit fatigued but she put on a heckava show regardless. Lots of chatting with the crowd, cute little anecdotes, etc. Everybody was standing up much of the time and was SO into it. This was a straight-on Sheryl show instead of a Jeep Festival so it was HER crowd. Is anyone else surprised at the, ahem, maturity of the average fan? Not exactly a young crowd which is fine... I fit in well. :-) There was one bizarro guy with really long grey hair who was front and center about 5 rows back and he just stood there vibrating with no rhythm the whole concert. It was pretty darn funny especially when everyone else in his section was sitting down. He loved Sheryl. How scary for her. I thought her lighting effects were fabulous and particularly effective at the very start. Made her seem very rock starish with the flashing lights and motorcycle sounds and white leather pants. The set list in approximate order: Steve McQueen EDIAWR Favorite Mistake C'mon C'mon You're an Original LLV Strong Enough Abilene IIMYH Difficult Kind Weather Channel A Change/Can't Explain (a Who cover with Jim doing lead vocal duty) AIWD cut short and right into Soak Up the Sun Neighborhood ****************** Safe and Sound the Led Zeppelin cover ("been a long time since I rock and rolled...") Jeff Trott's band opened and was great. He's got a very John Lennon/ Beatles meet the Maharaja sort of sound IMO. Tim sang with them on one song. Jeff didn't come on stage with Sheryl, tho.
