I've been on this list since late 1998. As for not posting, yeah, I've been busy, but my main excuse is because I hardly listen to Sheryl anymore and dread hearing anything new from her for some reason. Each time I get an email from pollstar about updates, I always thank goodness she's not coming to Florida! Am I that terrible or what? Guess I've changed a lot since then. To give you an example, I bought the newest album second-hand and haven't listened to it yet. I absolutely hate that song, Soak up the Sun. I hear it at work all the time, it's probably all I ever need to hear in order to hear the whole album. Yeah, happy me. Cmon, cmon wants to sound fun, but sounds too made-up to be just that. Care to be more specific though? For example, why do you dread hearing anything new from her? Why are you thankful she doesn't have a tour date scheduled for Florida? Why haven't you listened to your second hand copy of C'mon, C'mon? You can always remove the hated #2 track, ya know ;) I don't think anyone here is going to freak out because your opinion of Sheryl has changed, it's just that your reasons for jumping ship are pretty vague. I respect that everyone changes, sometimes people out grow musical tastes. I just don't get why you would be glad Sheryl isn't coming? I think you should give the album a chance....what's holding you back? Too bad Sheryl has lost your interest. Seems like Tom Petty has also? I'm still really into both of them, but yes I do listen to more other music as well. Like Calexico, Ryan Adams, Kane (dutch band). But when I put on one of those Petty or Crow cd's I think... wow that is still GOOD music! Lots of good memories attached to them and such. You should really give C'mon C'mon a listen, just skip Soak Up The Sun (I do most of the time too, as well as It's So Easy). If you're not listening to Sheryl, then what music are you listening to now? There are a lot of great tracks on there that you probably haven't heard and would probably learn to like as I have. It was weird for me hearing the new album for the first time and it did take a little getting used to. But the entire album soon grew on me (with the exception of It's So Easy...hehe). Try not to base your disenchantment with Sheryl and the new album solely on Soak Up the Sun. Just give the rest of the album one chance and then decide.
