I think that if you post a message to the forum with instructions on how to subscribe and maybe a brief history of the list, we would get a lot of new members resulting in a much more active mailing list. I do realize that if this happens you will have to spend more time moderating the list. There's sure to be a troll popping up from time to time and you would probably have to post the list rules on occasion, or put them up on a webpage somewhere. It's your call, but I'd be glad to help you out. Not that you need them, but I have the instructions on how to subscribe and I still have Lisa's original list rules. Maybe I'm wasting my time, but with a new album out and Sheryl on tour, I thought it would be nice to try and get this list going again. I've been lurking on the list for sometime, though I am an active member of the forum. I'll try to post more here as well. I find that the list tends to be a bit calmer, which is both good and bad :) I also haven't seen anything about how to sign up for the list since last year. I was lucky enough to catch it, and sign up, but I'm sure many people missed it. There are a lot of great new forum members I'd like to see on the list. Maybe we could start with an invite to friends of ours from the forum, and avoid a general announcement, to avoid the trolls. Then, if that works out, we could open it up. With the new album, and the tour, it seems like the perfect time to get the list humming again :) Sarah _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Jul 2002 14:11:48 -0500 From: "Anne Etienne" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] more posts... hey Chris, and you all, i will try to keep on posting, yet i will start attending grad school in the fall and may become overwhelmingly busy to the point i can't really post anymore. i will do my best to try to make this list as alive and interesting as it used to be. cheer up guys and enjoy the upcoming shows, i mean, it's a certainty, i shoudn't even mention that. anne From: Chris Ketchum To: Anne Etienne Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] more posts... Fiona< Yes, there used to be a link to Lisa's site on the official site, but it's not there anymore. She had a page with the list rules and sign-up instructions. After she shut down her site, it became a dead link and was removed when sherylcrow.com got a make-over. For anyone that's interested and wants to spread the word and help kick start this list, here's the info: To subscribe, send a message to: majordomo@smoe.org Type this message for individual emails: subscribe sheryl-crew Type this message for digest mode: subscribe sheryl-crew digest Type this message to unsubscribe: unsubscribe sheryl-crew It's also important to remember that if you reply to a message, it will go directly to the person that you are replying to. If you want everyone to see your message, you have to send directly or Cc it to the list. And to all of you sherylcrew old timers out there (I know who you are), get off your butts and say sumpthin' ;) Thanks for listening, Chris Hey Chris, thanks for giving us "old timers" (!) a kick in the buns! I rely on this list for my major news as I don't have the time (or inclination) to wade through the myriad of posts on the fan forum so obviously, I'm not as up on the latest as I used to be. I pop over there sporadically and read whatever Gregg posts but that's about it. I'll try my best to pass on anything I learn though. I've got 5th row seats for August 4th, here in Portland, OR and I can promise a report to the crew immediately after. Anyone else going to be there? Actually, to subscribe to the digest, you need to type subscribe sheryl-crew-digest Make sure that's in the body and not the subject. You can leave the subject blank, that's not important. The same goes for the unsubscribe commands. You can sign up another of your e-mail adresses by typing subscribe sheryl-crew (or sheryl-crew-digest)then the email address, so it would look like this subscribe sheryl-crew-digest xfilesrules98@yahoo.com I had to use an alternative address because everytime I try to send important information about the list, majordomo thinks I'm trying to send it a command. So when I send out information periodically about list information I'll be using this yahoo email. - -Phyllis (aka xmystery79@aol.com) ===== "Hey there miscreation, bring a flower time is wasting.."~Sheryl Crow Sheryl Crow: IMYH Yahoo!
