Now, it seems to be dying a slow death. Very few people post anymore and those posts are few and far between. Brigitte does a good job of posting info, but other than that, there's not much happening here anymore. I think that if you posted a message to the fan forum letting everyone know about this list (there's about 15,000 registered members and lots of newbies) and *instruct them how to subscribe*, it might just be a nice kick in the butt that could get this list going strong again. The SC forum is a great place for up to the minute info, and Gregg does an excellent job running the show, but it's a different format than an actual mailing list. I think that if we could kick start this list, it would be a nice addition to the forum. Heck, Sheryl's on tour right now and their hasn't been any posts about it. And to all of you sherylcrew old timers out there (I know who you are), get off your butts and say sumpthin' ;) Thanks for listening, Chris ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Jul 2002 21:40:57 EDT From: MsGroovyClam@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Attn: Mystery79 HUH! I do believe you are right! I don't get any updates or any random posts on the sheryl crew anymore.. why is that?? Forum gives great updates and great everything.. you're right.. gregg does a great job.. but the list is dying down.. is it time to retire maybe?? rock on. I noticed it for a while, even before I took over. Maybe I should take some more innitiative and post news that I get from the forum (crediting the poster of course). Many of the list people are also memembers of the forum...if any of you see an info you want to share, go ahead. It's only as good as we want it to be. Often the forum gets a lot of topics daily. Maybe this list could be a good run down of news and more casual discussions of song interpretation or whatever. I'll try to promote the list more on the forum, although I think a lot people are aware of it already....well I'll try but so do some of the rest of you, don't be shy in sending something along here. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Jul 2002 01:40:15 -0500 From: "Anne Etienne" Subject: [sheryl-crew] more posts... Hey all, i felt a bit targeted by chris' email about people notposting as much as they used to on the list. so i will give my 2 cents... many may not remember me but i used to post on a regular basis when i originally joined in in '97. for the old timers, i am anne from france. anyways, i went to sheryl's last two concerts in houston and dallas-ok, i am from france but have been living in dallas for 3 years. i can't remember the setlists so will just give a rememberance of it. houston (in no specific order, i am actually looking at the cd cases to figure that out): sm, suts, yao, c'mon c'mon, it's only love, tdk, mfm, change, happy, eiwr, aiwd, llv, se, and that one cover "rock and roll" or something. dallas: same as above minus all i wanna do and it's only love; instead, she played abilene, tgtn, and safe and sound. gwynneth pallthrow (i know i bastardized her name here, sorry i can't spell it) showed up for both shows and sang on tdk and it's only love in houston and on tdk and abilene in dallas. she also joined sheryl on rock and roll and they danced together on the piano, it was a must see. doyle bramhall II played the lead guitar and lenny kravitz's part of the chorus. in both shows, sheryl looked really sharp. she was wearing tight leather pants (the southern cross ones in dallas and light brown ones in houston) and a tank top. i won't talk a lot about houston for it was shorter due to the 11 noise ordinance and a rather crappy audience... i felt bad for our poor sheryl-not that the audience was mean, it was just not really participating well... anyways, sheryl was all jumping around, joking, and missing lines here and there hence a "i'm feeling so well tonight that i can't even remember the words of my own songs!" Jim sang on the prologue for a change (i can't name that cover) and got credited for it, he has a really cute voice. for those of you who will go to other shows, be ready to have to participate in the singing: during llv, she requested the audience to do the "oh oh oh oh oh" background thing during the down tempo part of the song (right before the lide des girks part) apparently, the drunker you are, the better the redention-or so sheryl said. anyways, sheryl was really lively tonight and the audience was totally absorbed by her... i think she has been getting a better and better live performer over the years and can now master the audience and incorporate people within her show by interacting with them... you will all enjoy... oh, and we also were allowed to get the "sheryl cry"-the one similar to that on love is a good thing, the "aaahhhhhhhhhh" thing, you know-on both a change and safe and sound.. she got be cheers for those for they sounded amazing train was pretty decent too though their stage presence is not as big, it may be due to the fact it's a band so no one should get more attention than anyone else... the singer has a really cool voice live though. ok, sorry for the rather lame review. if you guys plan on going and dont want to have to sit around the venue the whole afternoon-if you get the same kinda heat we all get in texas, you sure don't want that-be aware that sheryl show starts at 9:30... train's starts at 8:10, if you care about the other bands, well, i don't, i can't help, just go when gates open... hope it help though it was pretty cheep, just trying to boost this list a little. take it easy and i'll see you around-or so i hope anne - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: Click Here ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V5 #145 *********************************
