I emailed the guy a warning and he gave me attitude, then I became aware of all the nasty stuff he's been saying and booted him this afternnon. He can however try to sign up again. If he does, and start stuffs, ignore him, alert me and I will ask the people at smoe if I have any other options...still the best option with people like that is to ignore them, immediately email me (Gregg is a great guy, but he's in charge of the forum, not this list and thus can't do anything about it) and I will do my best to help you with whatever problem you have, including any other issues like switching to the digest or anything else you might need help with. I don't know if there's any misconceptions, but last spring I took over the mailing list and I am the moderator, Gregg is the moderator of the forum on the official site. But here is the concert report: (for the forum names I posted in here: read part 1) When we arrived at the Metropolis around 6 pm (??) (after being sandwiched in the car. We had 2 cars and 12 people, you do the math) there were already about 20 people there. So we joined them and some people noticed our forumshirts and they told Jan they knew his site, the sherylcrow.de one. There was some talking about the german forum and Philipp's site. Around 7.30 they let us in. No camera's allowed........ I brought too, a digital and a normal one and had the digital under my coat. They spotted the normal one and when I turned it in at the garderobe I held the digital one on my back. When I went back into the venue, there was a new securityguy (SIGH!!) and he saw my camera cause there was a big bump in my sweatvest. I had to turn it in again. He also pulled on the string of the hood of my shirt, checking maybe if it was some recordingequipment or something. But unfortunately no, with those strings I can't do anything but tie my hood around my head!!! When I joined the others at the second row, I was told that Andre, Stefan and Phillip all still had their camera's luckily. During the wait, we saw Peter walking up the stage a couple of times. Jim walking to his drumset. Matthew talking to the technician, then Peter came back in with Lorenza showing her probably how many people already were there. Tim also came out once. Then the show started. Sheryl walked in wearing a brown corduroy pants and a leather skirt with long strings (??) a piece of leather cut to small long ribbons.. (I don't know what it's called). She said Tim made it. "He spent hours and hours of cutting with the scissors" above that a leather top she has worn at other shows (if you didn't know, you would know because at the back it was ripped a bit). I couldn't believe that was really Sheryl standing there, just 10 feet away. Jan told me that he was thinking: "what a high resolution this video is, she's 3D, what? she's real". He couldn't help staring at her he said. They started of with EIAWR, and then Steve McQueen (that's going to be one of my favourites of the new album I'm sure!!!!!) Soak Up The Sun soon followed. And off course since we bought the single, we had listened to it a couple of times so we all sang along, jumping up and down, hands in the air, my heart also made a few jumps of happiness and excitement. It was really cool. The band was really into it. Jim as always, Peter doing is solo's like his nickname "tall and proud" chest forward. Lorenza and Matthew were communicating alot, looking at eachother what they were doing. I didn't pay much attention to Mike and Tim, cause I was on the other side of Sheryl, also the lighting wasn't pointed to them alot. Sheryl was amazing, doing some sidekicks. Dancing with her little 'skirt' moving. Asking how were doing and saying that it was way too long that she hasn't been to Germany. The setlist was the same as the London show, but instead of No One Said It Would Be Easy they played The Difficult Kind and right ahead it formed into Midnight Rider. I noticed she had the lyrics of Lucky Kid and Good Times Bad Times taped to her monitor. And she was reading them also. Don't know if this was at the Scala show as well. But it's ok, they are a new song and one that isn't her own. The guys were taking some pictures and at one time, Andre was trying to make one and Sheryl smiled right in the camera. It was nice. I hope they worked out. Hajni sat on Koeli's shoulders once. She was looking at Sheryl but she should've looked at Lorenza cause she noticed her and was nodding to her. Maybe she noticed the forum shirt?? Then the security signed to her that she had to come back down. Sheryl threw some picks in the crowd. Stefan got one. Jan got the other. Geisa and Caroline catched Jim's sticks. The crew threw some picks in the crowd after the show. Jan and Andre got one of Peter. Philipp one of Sheryl's. Others got the setlist from the roadies. Btw... the new bass, we will call it the "surf bass" was really cool. It was used alot. Tim played the red forum shirt guitar during some songs. I couldn't believe it was over, we all couldn't probably. When we watched the crew put everything back into the truck, very quickly we noticed the flightcase with: SHERYL CROW - DO NOT X-RAY and some picture of an alien or a funny man, (what was it??) on it. Very funny. I wonder what was in there, her amp or something else? Katja had to go back to Frankfurt again with the train. We got back to the car and had something to drink at a restaurant where you can't bring in any McDonald's food, even if the kitchen of the restaurant is closed and you're really hungry. Back at the hostel, a part of the group watched Sheryl videos on Jan's laptop untill 3.30am. It was really cool, we were all still on a Sheryl high. The next morning, Hajni was the first one to leave. Catching the train back to Gyor Hungary again. After that we stayed a big and watched the video Jan made of the whole trip. Then about noon, we said goodbye to everyone. Leaving Caroline and her friend behind, they were going to stay a day longer to do some sightseeing (I hope you had fun!!).... On the train back to my home, there was a guy who had a laptop on his lap. I asked him if he had some Sheryl Crow videos on there, but no. (well allright, I made this up....lol I never asked him, but I did think about it....lol! OOOOH: It's over but: Bayern 3, a german radiostation will broadcast (part of?) the show at April 8. But they gave the album only three stars out of five oh and another thin what the hell was she wearing in the big photo !!! it looked like me nan's curtain's from the 60's :) oh yeah the review FOREVER YOUNG no slowing down for the first lady of rock proclaiming herself both "all-american rebel" and "freebird" while guitar twangsloudly over a hip-hop beat. sheryl crow begins her fourth studio album in the manner of her close friend kid rock. the message is clear: despite turning 40 in feburay, crow still rocks. Classic rock refrences are everywhere -unsurprisinly, given that lenny kravitizand eagle don henaly are among the featured guests. you're an oringal isa duet with kravitiz and another of crow's homages to the rollin stones. The album's title track is pure mid-70's rod steawet. only in soak up the sun does crow spring a surprise by thiving theriffto cornersop's brimful of asha to carry one of her smartest pop melodies. Over 13 songs crow is not so smart- SmartKid is a terrible shouty rock athem, like no doubt on a bad day- but this represents a minor blip among songs such as safe and sound and abliene, the former as wonderfully overblown as the latter is charminly simple. a real pro. sheryl and no sign of a midlife crisis just yet . see you judith from the wetlands all the way to the apollo if your broke she's spitting if ya rich she might swallow-ends everast ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 22:52:11 +0000 From: Subject: [sheryl-crew] tv hey brigtte loved the review although mustadmit a little jealous :) I found this on the sheryl crow site its the uk tv sechule March 31 sat : parkinson ( please don't let her sit near that prat ali G ) April 2nd liquid news and london today april 4th pepsi chart april 6th CD uK april 7th Breakfast with frost !!!!!!???????? april 8th This morning and Totps 2 special april 12th totp's april 17th shezza night on vh1 from the wetlands all the way to the apollo if your broke she's spitting if ya rich she might swallow-ends everast ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 23:48:32 +0100 From: "Brigitte (Westland Post)" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] SUTS video airing in Europe! They are also showing it on TMF (TheMusicFactory) in Holland. YEAHHHHH! Who bought the single in Europe already? The extra tracks Chances Are and You're Not The One are a bit slow. The lyrics of You're Not The One are written by Stevie Nicks and the music by Sheryl. You can also hear Stevie doing backing vocals. This track sounds like an outtake of Trouble in Shangri-La.
