Here's a couple of things you needed... *You can call this chord from the chorus... Em add F# E-----0----- B-----0----- G-----0----- D----- 2---- A-----2----- E----- 2----- Here's the "Every time I turn around..." part that you needed. It's a bit of a stretch with the index finger, but not too difficult. *Play each chord 2 times E-------------------------------------- B-------------------------------------- G-----7-----7-----5-----5------------ D-----7-----7-----5-----5------------ A-----5-----4-----3-----2------------ E-------------------------------------- E------------------1-----3------------- B------------------1-----3------------- G-----7-----7-----2-----4------------- D-----7-----7-----3-----5------------- A-----5-----4-----3-----5------------- E------------------1-----3-------------- *The second time this part comes around, simply add the last 2 chords (F & G) one more time. Important to note is that the version you used is from Bravo Musicians, and Sheryl played it in the key of "D". On all of the other live versions I've heard, it is actually played in the key of "E" with the main guitar using a capo at the 2nd fret. For reference, keep an eye on Tim Smith in any of the recent televised performances of this song. So, if learned only in "D", I don't think you'll be able to play along with the album when it comes out. Why did she play it on Bravo in "D" when she plays it live with the full band in "E"? The only reason I can think of is because it's 1 whole step lower making it easier to sing to. That is just a guess though. Somebody ask her for us, ok? ;) Chris ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 16 Feb 2002 23:25:49 -0800 From: Chris Ketchum Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] SUTS guitar tabs At 09:24 PM 2/16/02 -0800, I wrote: >Why did she play it on Bravo in "D" when she plays it live with the full >band in "E"? >The only reason I can think of is because it's 1 whole step lower making it >easier to sing to. That is just a guess though. Somebody ask her for us, ok? ;) The answer just hit me. She simply didn't have a capo available, so she had to play it in "D" to facilitate the fingerings and open strings required.
