He's talking about all the songs on his new cd; here's what he said about: Song 9 - Picture (with Sheryl Crow) Kid Rock: " That's some of the best songwriting I've ever done...Sheryl came into town with her girl, and we just got up every day and recorded, for two or three days. We'd go out to the bar at night and sing karaoke and drink, have a good time, then come home and record." Recording Engineer Al Sutton: "That was the first song we recorded (for Cocky). They actually did two songs - - she did backups on a song that didn't make the record. When she got up and sang, jaws hit the floor. She's got that voice, and she's pretty much a one-take singer." At the end, Kid Rock mentions Sheryl again: "That pretty much sums up Kid Rock - duets with Sheryl Crow and Snoop Dogg. I'm the bastard child of those two. If they had a kid together, it would probably be me." I wonder who he means by "her girl"? Does Sheryl have an assistant who travels with her, or maybe a manager? Was it Trina Shoemaker? You might be able to find the rest of the interview at http://www.freep.com but I never have much luck with that site. :-) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: Click Here ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 30 Dec 2001 06:01:06 +0000 From: "Amanda D" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Kid Rock's duet with Sheryl I am willing to bet that "the girl" was Trina Shoemaker or it could have been Pam Wertiemer (sp?), she is credited in the "Thanks Yous" part. I love "Picture"!! Their collaboration was amazing. I like Kid Rock and well Sheryl is just the goddess of rock, but I have to say I was still shocked by how great this duet was. Anyone who hasn't heard it has to hear it!
