What a great outfit!! But does she need a new glasses or something (remember when she mixed up the reading at the Grammies? (was it?) or did her nose maybe itched? Also I thought her voice didn't sound that optimal. Did you notice she said "Oh God!" (you couldn't hear it but read it from her lips, I ain't a lipreader but I could understand that part!) after 'n Sync was announced as the winner by Nikka Costa? Way to go Sheryl!! Its from a section telling things that happened this week in music history. ...Cheryl Crow's 1996 self-titled second album is banned from Wal-Mart stores because of the song, "Love is a Good Thing"... the song refers to children killing children with "a gun bought at Wal-Mart discount stores"... Even though they spelled her name wrong, I still think it was pretty cool that this was in there. It almost seems like we should be wearing black, and crying quietly in rememberance of that week...Either that or breaking out with the festivities. I haven't decided which would be more appropriate. - -katie _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Sep 2001 16:10:27 -0500 (CDT) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?NORMA=20SALINAS?= Subject: [sheryl-crew] who´s page is... The album came out the 24th of September 1996 (almost 5 years now). They had demanded she change the lyric and they refused and to this day you still can't pick up that second cd at Wal-Mart. I did a research paper on it last semester and she did get a few slams from the press..I was surprised that it seemed about 50/50 with some papers on her side with the free speech/censorship argument and the other saying Sheryl was being irresponsible. If you have access to Lexis-Nexis (at most universities and some businesses) you can search back and find stories and articles about it. ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V4 #236 *********************************
