The CD, "Sheryl Crow on Sheryl Crow," contains about 30 minutes worth of interviews and 30 minutes worth of songs from her second CD. The interview itself is pretty interesting. It's a bit out of date now, but I enjoyed listening to it nonetheless. Sheryl has /wonderful/ speaking voice. She should do books on tape or voicemail or something. :-) Her accent -- if you can call it that -- is very subtle. Anyone from MO heard her speak for an extended period of time? (Please chime in...) "I was looking at the Jennifer Lopez liner notes. There are songs on her latest album...[it's] called 'J.Lo' or something, is it? Or 'Jo. Lez'? I don't know. And there were songs that have seven writers -- you know, I mean how many assholes does it take to screw in a light bulb? Get a life already. It's ridiculous." -- Chantal Kreviazuk, in the _McGill Tribune_, 3/20/01 ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2001 22:47:05 +0100 From: "spinspinsugargirlie" Subject: [sheryl-crew] stevie nicks hi alittle while ago someone said that bootylicious by Destiny's child sampled a song by Stevie nicks as it is being played 24/7 here in the Uk I noticed that Stevie is in the video too! thought that might interest those who unlike me are in to Stevie Nicks Judith http://www.geocities.com/judypoo.geo/ "From the wetlands all the way to the apollo, if ya broke she's spitting, if yah rich she might swallow" ENDS-everlast ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2001 00:43:48 -0000 From: "Esther Beke" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Music videos Does anyone happen to know where to find Sheryl Crow videos on the net. I guess you are wondering if she has an accent. She does but it is pretty subtle but there are times when I at least can tell that she is from here. I don't think Missourians have extremely noticeable accents so her talking seems really normal to me, but I have lived here my whole life that might be why. Biggest clue wasn't actually an accent thing it was the way she said Missouri on her Storytellers, she said she was from a small town called Kennett, Missour-A...I have never heard anyone that wasn't from here say Missour-A instead of Missouri (like Misery, hehe). I too think she has a cool speaking as well as singing (of course) voice. The song Bootylicious is very well umm let's say interesting. Never got into it much until it was played at Stevie's concert and everyone got up and danced, it brought a whole new life into the song. I actually kind of like it now. The video made me mad because Stevie is in it for like 20 secs and there is no mention of her anywhere, my cousin's "teeny-bopper" friends asked me why the old lady was playing guitar while every other extra in the video just danced in front of the mirror. It depressed me (old lady, that old lady could kick Destiny's a--well anyway), I explained to them that Stevie was the Queen of Rock and Roll and I made them watch her Behind the Music, yes I may be an evil cousin but they have to experience good music somehow...God knows, they don't get it on today's radio. I also forced them to watch Rockin' the Globe, when they asked me who Sheryl was I said the Modern Day Queen of Rock and Roll, a woman who will go on to become a legend just like Stevie. They went on listening to Britney and N*SYNC, but now I know somewhere in their subconscious will forever remain the Gypsy Witch Stevie Nicks and the Raven of Rock and Roll Sheryl Crow. Can't blame me for trying!! Cheers Amanda =) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2001 22:54:14 EDT From: XMystery79@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Music videos In a message dated 7/17/01 9:03:21 PM Eastern Daylight Time, ettybeke@hotmail.com writes: > Does anyone happen to know where to find Sheryl Crow videos on the net. > If so, pleeease send me the info, > thanks,Esther Beke > > They're available in streaming video on the official site..www.sherylcrow.com. I think it's under the albums section.
