Music Just when you thought the now defunct Puffy/J.Lo liaison was the last of the great good-girl/bad-boy alliances, the Sheryl Crow/Kid Rock relationship appears to be heating up. The New York Daily News reports Crow and Rock delighted denizens of Gotham nightspot The Cutting Room with an intimate seat Saturday night, featuring Rock -- dressed as an Easter bunny -- hopping onstage to duet with Crow on Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and Dobie Gray's "Drift Away." When Crow jumped on a table to perform a go-go dance, Rock groped her leather-clad behind, the paper reported, then performed a bluesy improv that declared if he were president, "Sheryl would be my First Lady." Crow pal Gwyneth Paltrow, who is rumoured to be guesting on Crow's next album, joined the singer for versions of The Who's "Squeeze Box," Ram Jam's version of Leadbelly's "Black Betty" and a new song called "It's Only Love," the Daily News said. Thought the crew would enjoy this! It's on the forum now but should be up in a more permanent section (the tour diary maybe?) soon. Looked like a cool show. P.S. Looks like Tim & Sheryl learned to play "black betty' since that Trinity Sessions concert. :) - ---------------------------------------------------- Join Care2.com's Race for the Rain Forest! Can't stand Gwenyth..I would hate, hate, hate it if she played on Sheryl's cd or toured with her like it's been rumored (I think that was a different article I read on the forum). I also hate the fact that cause she's famous she gets to know and hang out with Sheryl, cause she mentioned she was a fan and now she's singing back up. Hey, we're fans, lol why doesn't Sheryl ask us to sing with her. I think we all have been extremely judgemental lately. Between Kid Rock and now Gwyneth Paltrow, we have scrutinized Sheryl's friends and possible boyfriends a little too much. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that but we should also respect Sheryl's opinion...if she thinks Kid and Gwen and anyone else is cool...she has the right to live her life the way she chooses. Talking about rumors and her friends (etc) is fine and we do not have to like them or agree but I don't think we should post negetive things about her "associations" on a list, she most likely doesn't but could possibly read. Please don't take this the wrong way, I am not trying to nag on anyone, I do the same thing...everyone does. It is the whole media craze in society, the thing is--is that I think everyone knows how it feels to have people talking about your friends in negative ways...IT SUCKS! Sheryl doesn't need that from us, God knows she gets enough of it in the press. Cheers Amanda =) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2001 23:58:45 -0400 From: "Guilherme, Steven C" Subject: [sheryl-crew] RE: [Sheryl-crew] No offense but.... Sheryl doesn't > need that from us, God knows she gets enough of it in the press. > Ok Amanda, I see what you're saying..but the only reason I said anything was because I really don't think Sheryl is reading this. I really apologize if there are any Gwenyth P. fans here-I really haven't liked her work for a long time, and it doesn't have much of anything to do with Sheryl. I guess I didn't think of it, I wasn't in the mood to censor my feelings much, hah. But as a purely musical standpoint, I don't like the idea of Gwenyth singing with her, but hey, if Sheryl's the lead, who cares? :) I actually think that Sheryl and Kid Rock singing together is kind of intriuging. As for the dating rumors..I agree completely. We don't know KR or even Gwenyth as people-they could be really nice. We're judging media images..it's easy for us to say, hey don't talk about Sheryl like that cause we're fans..but I think all of us have been guilty of "judging" celebs. It's wrong, but it's human nature, you know? - ---------------------------------------------------- Join Care2.com's Race for the Rain Forest!
