Sorry if people already knew this, but I never heard about it before. YEEEE-HAAA!!!!!!!! From Entertainment Weekly Online: Then there was Sheryl Crow and Shelby Lynne, who struggled with their presentation banter. Earlier that day in rehearsals, Lynne had requested that their dialogue be simplified, but she was told to stick to the script. Crow, blaming the TelePrompTer, called her and Lynn's presentation ''marginally disgusting.'' She boasted more pride in the song ''Kiss The Girl Goodbye,'' which she recently recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming film ''Bridget Jones' Diary.'' And Crow also said she's negotiating to score a film next year, and possibly record one of Keith Richards' songs. One weird coincidence: Madonna told Crow that she owned the same pair of rhinestone studded red pants that the ''All I Wanna Do'' gal wore on stage. We doubt they both attended that Presidents' Day sale at T.J. Maxx. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Feb 2001 17:21:51 -0500 From: "Brooke J." Rocker Sheryl Crow, who has performed on stage with her idols, the Rolling Stones, on many occasions, said she hopes to collaborate with the group's guitarist, Keith Richards, for her next album. Crow revealed the potential pairing Wednesday night, backstage at the Grammy Awards, and Richards' manager, Jane Rose, confirmed the essential details when contacted for comment by Reuters the next day. {snip} ``He played this song that I think that he had written perhaps for the last record (1997's ``Bridges to Babylon'') and they didn't put it on the record, and I've been working on him ever since to let me record it, and have him record it with me and, I think he's going to do it,'' she told reporters. Crow declined to reveal the song's title, both at the news conference and several hours later when badgered by Reuters at a party. She is halfway through recording a follow-up to her last studio album, 1998's ``Globe Sessions,'' and hopes to have it in stores by the end of summer [snip] Full article: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010222/en/music-stones_1.html - ----- About Sheryl's outfit: Best new artist winner Shelby Lynne wore a sequined halter and leather pants that revealed more than it covered, and stood in stark contrast to Sheryl Crow's demure outfit, when the two performed Crow's song ``The Difficult Kind.'' http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010222/re/grammys_dresses_dc_3.html What the * is demure? - ------ Sheryl and Madonna share the same pants: Sheryl Crow found herself one-upped by none other than fashion maven Madonna (news - web sites). Crow sported midcalf-length red leather pants dotted with rhinestones by Dolce & Gabana. ``Madonna looked up at me and said, 'I have those pants,' '' Crow said backstage, carrying her Grammy for female rock vocal performance. http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20010221/en/grammys_vignettes_4.html - ------- Photo's Sheryl and Grammy: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/p/ap/20010221/en/grammys_mfp.html Sheryl at the pre-grammyparty: http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/p/nm/20010221/en/imdf21022001063011a.html Do I see a Madonna resemblance here? - ------- Brigitte ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Feb 2001 15:27:14 -0800 (PST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Fiona?= Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Grammy... WHOO HOO!!! GO SHERYL! One more Grammy to take home and polish!! Hey, guess who went to the Grammys last night? Yes, that's right, Sheryl and a whole bunch of other pretty people, but also Lara and I!!!! Cool, huh? Except, for future reference peeps, never believe anyone who says they can get you into an aftershow party, unless they're, you know, Sheryl. We didn't have the best seats. At all. But it was cool because we were on the side so we could see everyone getting ready to perform and standing backstage and stuff, so when Sheryl came on and was getting ready with Shelby, we were all "SHERYL!!!" and she turned around and probably thought we were freaks for yelling while there was nothing going on. And we won't mention much about the, uh, interesting combination of cropped trousers and knee high boots, just for the sake of, well, frankly, sanity. And we also won't dwell on an even more interesting choice of dress and boots for the main event.... Please don't think I'm dissing Sheryl, the woman rocks, but maybe she needs a stylist, or a new one... Again, I want to reiterate my love of all things Crow, so don't go yelling at me. As was the main theme of last night, let us all remember freedom to express an opinion. Thankyou. Anyways, Sheryl rocked the house, or rather, acousticed it, with a really scaled down version of A Difficult Kind with Shelby Lynne, and when the mp3 comes out you'll all be sure to hear the screams and whoo hoos which are all me and Lara. We represented you well guys. They sang amazingly, their voices really blend well and it made for a good item, it really did. We were bummed because ALL of Sheryl's categories were in the pre-telecast things, when we were in the shower and stuff to get ready. We didn't even know about the pre televised things, we wished we had of because, of course, Sheryl was freaking there. We saw her down with Mads and Tim and Faith and everone but of course we didn't get to meet her. We saw Andy Garcia and Vonda Shepard, and we met Dwight Yoakam and Briget Fonda, who were together. Andy and Vonda weren't, by the way... So, yeah. It was a GREAT night. But not really that special you know, it didn't feel like "The Grammys", somehow it was better watching it on TV, because that made it seem more real. Maybe if you pay $3200 to get seats where you can see anything, it would be better, but I don't know how worth it. Still, I'd go again, but I'd make a point of getting onto that main floor so I could actually meet Sheryl. So yeah. Oh, and just a tiny bit more Sheryl thing. She must have been so nervous beucase right after the song when her and Shelby presented an award, she messed up. She just had to give up pretending to be natural and read the whole thing. Maybe the auto-cue wasn't working, who knows? Anyways... Sheryl rules, we had fun, and it's definitely a cool story to tell! Fee ===== Work like you don't need the money. Did any of you see Sheryl's outfit before the Grammy's? She was interview by VH1 for a minute or so when she was wearing this...this "Outfit". I was laughing...not because she looked stupid just because she's got her own little style going there. I thought it was cool. She had like these short black shorts on.. with this black halterish topish thing. and then...there was this belt...haha...and it didn't go on her hips. It was more of below the chest area. And to top it all off there were the boots. lol. They reminded me of beetlejuice or something. And I'M NOT MAKING FUN OF SHERYL!! I'm commenting on her brave fashion sense. ;) Whatever makes you happy...I guess it can't be that bad. lol. - -Makinzy >About Sheryl's outfit: >Best new artist winner Shelby Lynne wore a sequined halter and leather >pants that revealed more than it covered, and stood in stark contrast to >Sheryl Crow's demure outfit, when the two performed Crow's song ``The >Difficult Kind.'' >http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20010222/re/grammys_dresses_dc_3.html >What the * is demure? > >------ > _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V4 #53 ********************************
