Looking @ poolstar.com I see that Sheryl is playing Caracas, Venezuela on the 18th of Jan (Just before Rock in Rio.) Can anyone confirm this? I'm wokring on board a cruise ship which is a very busy life (70+ hours a week) and so when it comes to going to concerts I'm always screwed. However, my ship (the m/s Nordic Empress) will be in Dry Dock for the week proceeding the 18th in Curacao (right of the coast of Venezuela) and if I play my cards right I may be able to get off, fly to the show (ROCK OUT!) and fly back to San Juan just in time! First, can someone in the know confirm this show? Second, I'd pay anything for them, where / who can get me back stage passes? Third, does anyone know a good travel agent? I could book my own flights and probably a hotel, but the US travel advisory for VE dosen't look very good. so I want to make sure I'm in a "good" part of town. Thank you all so very very much! (Sorry, I don't post more but I do read everything! 70 hours a week minimum is a killer!) - -Jonathan PS: Sorry for this misspellings, but I'm using a telnet session of a BSAT frequency. aka, typing is very slow and hard, and mistakes are downright impossible to correct! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Dec 2000 15:24:41 -0000 From: "Esther Beke" Subject: [sheryl-crew] HEY! people Hey guys, I can't believe it, it means that I'm going to the january 18th concert in Caracas!!!!!!!, what!, This is the best birthday gifts that the heavens sent me, jE!, I'm already starting to look for connections to get a backstage pass. Found some new info regarding Sheryl's work on the new album. I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!! "Sheryl Crow, who presented an award during the festivities, said she's about halfway done recording her follow-up to "The Globe Sessions." "This record isn't as live-sounding," she said. "It's got more programming on it. I'm working with a couple of people I've never worked with before, like Jeremy Stacey from England." http://www.billboard.com/daily/2000/1208_05.asp ===== Brad Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores. By the age of 4 Jeremy and his identical twin, Paul, were playing anything they could get their hands on; and by the time they were 12 they were coercing their luckless parents into supplying them with musical instruments and were playing with plenty of volume and increasing panache - Paul on guitar, Jeremy on drums and keyboards. At age 14 Jeremy moved to London, to attend drama school and play music. He had no interests in life, but two obsessions - music and acting, to which he devoted all his time. OK, music, acting and girls. Plus a yearning to fully understand, and thereby transcend, the emptiness of the phenomenal world. When he was 16, Jeremy was already starting to record with different bands (in their parallel thespian career the twins had, by this time, already appeared in numerous TV, theatre and radio productions). From age 21 he drank deeply of the London jazz scene, and has played with some of the finest in this milieu. At 27, Jeremy joined The Lemon Trees - a band formed by Guy Chambers when he left World Party. This marked Jeremy's re-ascendance into the penthouse of pop, after years in the jungle of jazz. Though the Trees never quite attained world dominance, the experience of recording their two albums with Jack Joseph Puig (Jellyfish, Black Crowes) served as a platform from which Jeremy boarded the express train of music production. Jeremy's now devoting a lot of time to production, doing some work with well-known artists but also spending a lot of time bringing on new talent. Some of his main features as a producer are: boundless enthusiasm, technical know-how, experience of studio recording, equanimity regarding all formations, talent for imaginative arrangements, and a lot of interesting gear. He is so very, very ace. SESSION & TOURING CREDITS FOR THE FOLLOWING ARTISTS & PRODUCERS....
