My two cents is that Sheryl hasn't looked this good in a long time, She had kinda the same thing goin on for a while and it was a good look but this one really rocks. She was looking a bit conservative with the old doo. I think this new doo makes her look younger. The song was great too. Steve Earle is one of those folks who would have been quite famous if he hadn't of made some bad personal decisions a while back. Most of his stuff is killer, check it out if you get the chance. Lastly, Quick poll here....I love Sheryl's voice in the studio or live..but..for some reason I think she sings better live than in the studio... which one do you all prefer?..and why is that the case?.. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jul 2000 11:25:10 EDT From: MsGroovyClam@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] letterman/hair/earle/live or studio poll Howdy Crew.. It's been a long time since I've posted anything.. but this one I had to respond to! I think Sheryl sounds great live!! She sounds good in the studio also. But there is something about her that she just rocks live! She's awesome!! I can't wait to hear something new from her!! LOL.. I need to tell you all something!! I was at Chilis(resturant) yesterday for dinner with my mom waiting for my sister to come.. And over the speakers I hear a country song.. and my mom is "Ms I know everything eventhough I'm always wrong" type of person.... so she sat down next to me and was like that was Sheryl Crow..now she knows how much of a fanatic I am of Ms Sheryl Crow and she knows that I know every single song from her.. so I continue to tell her.."No Mom that is NOT sheryl Crow" and she's all.. "Yeah it is, it's from her new album.." NO. I was like.."dude.. No it's not.. she doesn't even have anything out yet" then she says.."it's from her latest album.!!!!!" AAHHHHHHHHHHH "Mom, I know every song from her latest album , the one before that and the one before that! it's not her.." then she finally chuckles and goes.. "oh yeah.. your right" Once again somebody was trying to know more about Sheryl than I do.. it's all very funny!! She knew better than that!! HELLO Sheryl FAN OVER HERE!! I KNOW HER MUSIC!! LOL!:) Anyways... that's all I have to say.. She rocked on Letterman.. "she has the moves baby she's got the motion..." haha.. remember that song from the 80s! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jul 2000 11:36:15 EDT From: Sherylcrew@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Lettermna show and Planet Rock Profile hi, I saw the Letterman show which was pretty cool -- nice to see something new and she sang great of course although the song itslef was medioka. Her hair...hmm....I agree it is way too puffy for such a petitie lady! it makes her look really old!! I was kinda miserable taht they didnt interview her though, but luckily about an hour after the show at 1:20 am (!) i was still awake and there was an unscheduled repeat of a programme called PLANET ROCK PRFILES a half hour programme involving a really really interesting sheryl interview made in 1996 just as "sheryl crow" was being released, has anyone else seen it?? bye .TOM. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 7 Jul 2000 18:21:35 +0100 From: "spinspinsugargirlie" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Lettermna show and Planet Rock Profile hey ya tom yes I've seen the planet rock profiles three times previously. one thing I will say is that each time I have seen it they have omitted or submitted part of the interview. for example last night they included the part when the interviewer goes on a bout spinal tap,the woodstock thing then playing in the flea infested club and Sheryl replies back! " yeah for a minute there I thought I was hot shit " but other times it has not been included. and they last night left out the bit when Sheryl talks about the time when she heard can`t cry anymore being played by somebird in new Orleans and how regardless of what people say it did not change the direction of her album ( it was rather funny you have to see I think :) ) hope that is fine " sheryls hair did she audition for a part in charlies angels :) !!!! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 07 Jul 2000 20:02:00 -0500 From: James Squire Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] letterman/hair/earle/live or studio poll RIVDOG@aol.com wrote: > > live..but..for some reason I think she sings better live than in the > studio... which one do you all prefer?..and why is that the case?.. So far, I'd have to go with the studio, simply because in the live stuff I've heard, she sometimes gets a bit sloppy in her enunciation, which on her last two studio albums especially has been very good. I may sound like an old fogey when I say this, but half the time when I'm listening to today's American music groups I can't help wondering what language I'm hearing because it sure doesn't sound like English. For the most part, Sheryl Crow's songs are easy to understand without a lyric sheet, and I really appreciate that because I think that is definitely part of good singing. - -- Jim Squire: members.aol.com/jamess1889/friends.html "Chandler & Monica": www.acusd.edu/~dannys/chanmon.html "atf Off-Beat Posting Guide": members.aol.com/jamess1889/net_guide.html "Discuss the Gospel": www.crossings.org - --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Mariel is drawn to men of power in that same way. My friend and I were watching Rockin' the Globe again today and I accidently hit the SLOW button on the VCR remote and it started playing in slow motion. It was during Everyday.... and she was doing the infamous EDIAWR dance. It was hilarious watching it in slow motion....so we watched other parts in slow motion too. Like when she messes up her hair in Am I Getting Through. My friend, who like me is obviously easily amused, laughed at some parts till she cried. If your bored and up for a good laugh someday it might be something to try if you can. Cheers Amanda =) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #194 *********************************
