Hi Crew!

I think we should all chill down a bit. I don't think Don meant to insult
Sheryl, or even wanted to be "Mr Wiseguy".
She has really been very active over the past few years, releasing albums
every two years or so, appearing on a lot of movie-soundtracks, playing a lot
of charity and tribute gigs, touring a lot, and she said it herself that she
needs to take more time for herself!
Of course, she has already started to do so, but she still is very active, and
I think he just meant it as a good advice from someone who's been in the
business for a very long time!

Don Henley is a burnt out Jealous old fart who needs to stay at home and not

The only thing Sheryl is at risk for is being a total hottie and consummate 
instrumentalist/singer/songwriter/world peace giving/haircut? She don't need

Umm an anti Don Henley site because of it? You do know that Sheryl & Don 
Henly are friends right? She went to his wedding a couple of years ago and 
was in the audience at his storytellers appearance. So maybe he made a stupid 
comment, that doesn't mean people should hate him or rip him to 
shreds..People have made worse comments than that.  Don Henley is old school, 
so he doesn't believe in being in the media, except that's the way it is 
today, any successful artist is going to be mentioned a lot. The only time I 
think Sheryl had to worry about over exposure is when All I wanna do was mega 
popular, and that was 5 years ago.

Okay, I don't mean this in an insult in any way, but Sheryl was already 
overexposed.  Do we not remember "All I Wanna Do"?  She was just smart 
enough, and talented enough, to prove that she was more than a one hit 
wonder that people could get rid of after her first album.

And she did it a second time too!  With her whole second album, but that 
victory was much more sweet, because she had the great rock songs, and the 
exposure.  Very few people are lucky enough to have a great deal of talent, 
and attention.  Sheryl has the best of both worlds.

But of course, Henly doesn't see that she's just keeping herself busy, as a 
person of her stature should.  I don't hate Henly either, but I just think 
his comment wasn't very thought out.  Sheryl's his friend, so I guess she 
let it blow off, as I believe I should too.

Subject: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl and my vacation

I just got back from a week vacation in New Orleans, first I want to wish a 
Happy belated birthday to all of the people celebrating birthdays that I 
missed.  While in New Orleans we stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe....I; of 
course, went searching for Sheryl related things.  I looked all over the 
downstairs and didn't find anything so I asked the bartender if I could go 
upstairs (it was blocked off for a private party) and just look around, he 
said sure.  Right as I started walking up the stairs there was an autographed 
Acoustic guitar and denim jacket of Sheryl's as well as a framed poster of 
her.  It was so cool.  But that wasn't the only Sheryl related incident on my 
vacation, a couple days later my sister and I were walking down Bourbon St. 
and I was wearing my Sheryl shirt.  Some guy, who I guess works somewhere 
down there, walked up to me and said, "Sheryl Crow...she's cool.  I've seen 
her around here a few times.  Cool chick."  Then he just walked off.  At 
first I was like OK, but it was fun just having someone mention something 
about my shirt.  Whether he has really seen her are not is debatable but I 
know she recorded some of the self-titled album there so he might have.  

DON HENLEY~I don't think he meant what he said in a negative way, he just 
probably said it without thinking.  If it was advice I hope Sheryl doesn't 
listen and follow in his footsteps....some time off is good, she needs 
it.....but if she takes 11 yrs off I would honestly be sad as well as pissed 
(for lack of a better term).
