Unfortunately, I butchered the song (sorry, Sheryl). I was OK on the "run, baby, run, baby, run, baby, run..." part but the other parts are HARD- I didn't realize how hard until I was already in there. There are more words than can fit the music and there are places where she goes up in pitch a half-step at a time - I really messed it up. I seem to sing OK at home when I have the main voice to guide me - but singing without that other voice is hard. Especially into a microfone with people watching. They also have "My Favorite Mistake" - perhaps that's easier for me and I will try that next time. I may practice at home first :). - -Larr _____________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Click here for FREE Internet Access and Email http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jun 2000 13:27:38 +0100 From: "spinspinsugargirlie" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Karaoke hehe I sure you did fine Larry I remember being down my local pub on a karaoke night after much persuasion from my fellow drinkers I agreed to sing but on the one condition that I sung Sheryl obviously thinking they wouldn`t have any ( the general songs sung were Steps,Aqua,Boyozone and the old classic I will survive ! ) Em how wrong could I be they had listed All I wanna do Strong enough, If it makes you happy, Hard to make a stand, Everyday is a winding road, my fav mistake and anything but down, After conspicuous amounts of drink I sang Everyday is a winding road! (just askin'..... :o) It was on Wednesday May 31st. The CNN anniversary was a large celebration of CNN's 20th anniversary of broadcasting, and was attended by delegates from all over the world. And of course I taped it. A bunch of friends and I were at a little festival one of the towns around here holds every year and a band was performing covers. Someone asked them to do "All I Wanna Do"--I hate to say it but they were doing a very piss poor job (had all the words right but didn't sound anything like Sheryl, not the same tone, rate or anything). So when they asked some people to help them out my friends and I did, we actually got on stage and sang the whole song. The lead singer of the band let us sing the whole thing without her. We didn't sound to good because I always seem to spend my singing lesson money, but we did better than the band was doing and we got the whole audience and everyone who was walking by involved. Sorry for the ramble. Cheers Amanda =) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #164 *********************************
