I don't wanna lose the clean image I have of her. You know? I know, I'm a big baby, but I just like to think of her as being different than that. I don't know how it wouldn't kill her beautiful voice....that stuff is so hard on my voice, that's why I don't do it....well, many other reasons, but still it ruins it right away.... oh well, who knows. I myself have never seen what I thought to be drunk behavior (when I met her her eyes were white and not bloodshot). I know in the past she used to drink, but she said she was cleaning up her act and doesn't really drink much anymore. It's also really not fair to say that you can tell based on a look if she's stoned or not..Someone told me that they thought my voice sounded like I was a stoner, when I've never touched the stuff..lol. So you know..some people swear that she's drunk or high and to others it just looks like she's having fun performing..I personally don't think she could go on much longer getting wasted on her tours all the time. Basically what I'm trying to say is I could care less if Sheryl smokes weed or drinks in the privacy of her own home or whatever, but I'd rather not hear about it in public. People of all ages listen to her music and I don't think that kids need to hear that she smokes pot when she's never made a comment about it and if she does she obviously doesnt' want to make it public knowledge..Anyway thats my $.02.. - ---------------------------------------------------- Sheryl Crow : If It Makes You Happy Join Care2.com's Race for the Rain Forest! Harris) show for the CNN 20th Anniversary. I'll psot a full review tomorrow (and a couple of pics), but a few quick notes: The concert was a benefit for her landmine crusade, and Sheryl was introduced by the widow of King Hussein, the Queen of Jordan. She did confirm that she is working on a new album now, but had to take time to come out and support a worthy cause. Set was right at 1 hour, and no she didn't play any new songs. I can bet though, that Sheryl is mature about it all.. She would definitely not appear in concerts too wasted for sure, but once (last year?) she did a song on a local TV show here in Australia (Hey Hey It's Saturday) where she was asked a few questions afterwards upon which she replied quite humbly 'oh, it's all a blur now' with the best smile on her face! It was like as if, oh just some local TV show in Australia so why not? Basically, I'm sure she'd keep things in moderation. What I'm trying to say here, is try to open your mind guys. Pot is slowly becoming more 'accepted' (in moderation) as the newer generations pump through, and the only reason why it's still so regarded as a bad thing is the way society had created its false reputation. (and what about alcohol? Today's deceptive drug of society, causing deaths everywhere as opposed to pot). I still agree with the fact that she SHOULDN'T mention such things in public, especially for the sake of youth, but I just cannot be ignorant of my all-time favourite musician's past-times in privacy... And as for smoking affecting a singer's voice, that's debatable! A musician friend of mine had found many times that the singers who've smoked tend to have a much more broader vocal spectrum in terms of texture and other thingos (sorry, no idea), making the songs a whole lot more variant and enjoyable. Well, actually I have noticed this with all sorts of artists myself... Anyway, I will undoubtedly be flamed again after this :( but I will end with this: no smoking is not a good thing, and I will try not to mention any more of this concerning SCrow... - -charlie -----Original Message----- From: XMystery79@aol.com [mailto:XMystery79@aol.com] Sent: Thursday, 1 June 2000 3:07 AM To: sheryl-crew-digest@smoe.org Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Mary Jane kay, that's great that Sheryl might smoke a little bud here and there.... but I don't wanna hear it. Also this one is different from the tour edition which was the regular GS cover with some silver imprint on it instead of the plain font that the regular cds have on the outside. I saw one at Best Buy and almost bought it but it was $30 and I already had the Trinity Sessions whole cd so I didn't really need the 6 track that came with it. So what I was wondering how the Japanese version and the UK version were different if at all..Same cd different cover? Were any of these rereleased with Sweet Child O'mine like the North American versions? Because if I ever get a replacement I won't feel like it is complete if it has an extra track on it that I can't get (lol even though I have SCOM, Carolina & Resuscitation already on diff cds, I still would like it if all of them were on just 1). Thanks for any help anyone can give. - ---------------------------------------------------- Sheryl Crow : If It Makes You Happy Join Care2.com's Race for the Rain Forest!
