Wednesday in Roswell, today in just a random movie (well it wasn't really random, I just love John Travolta) Phenomonan (spell?). Everyday is a Winding Road pops up from the screen. Did anyone know she had a song in that movie? Is it on the soundtrack btw? Cause I like all the other songs that were in there. Brigitte Who's waiting carefully for the next Sheryl audio appearance Oh something else. If you're in for some new music. Try Eagle-Eye Cherry's new album Living In The Present Future (I'm not sure if it has come out yet in the U.S.) but it's just great. He's the little brother of Neneh Cherry (Seven Seconds and A Woman's World) and he also sings a duet with her on this album. It's a good mix of guitars, piano, hammond organ, brass it's great. It's his second album, his first album Desireless (hits Save Tonight and Falling In Love Again) is awesome too. Just give it a try. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 May 2000 23:24:53 +0200 From: Brigitte and/or Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew] Eagle-Eye ! Brigitte, I saw that movie a while ago and happen to like it a lot too. Anyways, Everday Is A Winding Road is on it, yet it doesn't seem to be the studio version. To me, it sounds more like an accoustic version of it (only accoustic guitar on the background). Since I also liked the soundtrack, and I wanted to get my hands on that version of EDIAWR, I checked the soundtrack about a year ago, and Sheryl's song is NOT in there. What a shame, well, I hope you all have a good week end Anne - --- Brigitte and/or Michael wrote: > Wednesday in Roswell, today in just a random movie (well it wasn't > really > random, I just love John Travolta) Phenomonan (spell?). > > Everyday is a Winding Road pops up from the screen. Nothing has scared me more in a long time then this!! I was in the lounge in my school today and I was by the sink and heard a familiar sound..."Do do do do, do do do do" a la Subway Ride. I looked up all excited that she was on tv or something, but it was a JOLT pop commercial!!!! It was soo stupid too! AND, it wasn't her singing it!!! It was someone else, why oh why must her music be in such commercials?? It is sounding to me like Sheryl waved her moral rights without prior agreement, in her publishing agreement. This means that the person, once the songs are assigned, has no say in what are done with the songs. Because Sheryl was saying how a few of her songs have been used in Soundtracks that she wasn't happy about (Kalifornia), and now this dumb pop commercial. If she had a clause in her contract that said she waved her moral rights (integrity, paternity and association) but with prior agreement, then she could have a say in what her music is used in. What do you guys think? Do you think she would agree to have Subway Ride used in a cheesy commercial, without her singing it? Who knows, maybe she doesn't mind as long as it's not recognizable as her. I contacted Interscope about the fan forum this morning because I was surprised it was still down. I had also said the site had been up and down lately when it had been working. The reply from Interscope: "It has been intermittent. We did get hit pretty hard. We just built a new server from the ground up and are moving everything as we speak. I dont have a firm eta, but we are devoting all available resources to the problem." That "eta" is estimated time of arrival - which means he doesn't know when it will be fixed. Guess we'll find out sometime. I asked him to let me know when he had a better estimate. Wow, the coolest thing (for me at least) just happened. The radio stations where I live completely suck it is Britney, N*Sync, BSB, Christina then Britney, N*Sync, BSB, and Christina again. Well, we just got a new radio station so I thought I would check it out since the rest annoy me. The first thing on when I switch to it is Matchbox 20, cool I like Matchbox 20 but then the best part. They played a commercial, it began like so " Hi everybody. This is Sheryl Crow and your tuned into 104.1 blah, blah, blah." I was so shocked that the next surprise really got me. IT WAS A TRIPLE PLAY!!! And the songs, wow the songs. They played TGTN, EDIAWR (live), and A Change (live). The DJ came on and said, " We don't normally play those versions of those songs, but God I love that woman and if you haven't seen her in concert you are really missing out!" Needless to say I was so happy, and now it is my very first preset station. Cheers Amanda=) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #142 *********************************
