Mike - List manager/owner *********** Virus Alert: "I Love You" Email Virus A deadly computer virus has hit computers in Asia and Europe and is spreading like wildfire across the United States via email messages. The virus, which includes the message "I Love You" or "Love Letter" in the email subject line, was first spotted in Asia early this morning. The virus arrives in an email that includes an attachment called "Love-Letter-For-You," and targets users of Microsoft Outlook to send messages with the virus to every person listed in that user's address book. Once opened, the email virus overwrites existing local script and HTML files, as well as picture and music files, with its own code. Files with extensions.jpg," .jpeg, .mp3 and .mp2 are overwritten. To protect yourself against "I Love You," do not open any messages with the subject "I Love You" or "Love Letter" or any other suspicious attachments. Delete these messages immediately and download the latest version of your antivirus software. I've noticed in Straight To The Moon, if you listen close enough throught the song, you will hear what sounds like a newscast-you can hear a woman newsreader like it was CNN or something. Now when I listen to the song, my mind always expects to hear the hiss. Speaking of voices, on TNMC before solidify you can hear someone talking, and I think it's Hard to Make a stand, Sheryl says Okay or something like that. I like to look for stuff like that after I've memorized a song. During Everyday is a winding road, I know the exact point where she would say "1, 2, shake your ass" on the studio version. I guess I'm just weird like that. Another thing is, when I'm humming along to a song I'll hum the instrument parts too, like during the All I wanna do solo. This proves that I really need to hear some new Sheryl material asap so I can stop doing dumb stuff like this...Lol. - ---------------------------------------------------- Sheryl Crow : If It Makes You Happy Join Care2.com's Race for the Rain Forest! >> ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 May 2000 08:28:08 EDT From: FadedSign@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] Erotomania - An obsessed Sheryl fan Hello Crew- Interesting topic here; I was in class and we watched a video on Erotomania. (rotomania is when someone stalks someone and is convinced that someone REALLY LOVES THEM. It is a mental disorder. Anyway, they had Sheryl on there. There was this guy who was about 40. He said that Sheryl loved him and he loved her and she thinks about him all the time; Apparently he had a front row seat at one of her concerts and she looked at him. He said that HE realized SHE loved him right then and there. They showed a clip of her singing Leaving Las Vegas. Anyway, I think Sheryl has been somewhat fortunate as being an "icon". Im sure she has gotten her share of weird letters, but it seems for the most part that Sheryl does not live her life in fear. For those of us that have met her, she seems very outgoing and friendly. I personally would be very upset if Sheryl had a fan stalker like John Hinckley or the girl that broke into David Letterman's house. Also, for Bjork fans, or not for Bjork fans-because you may already know this...But she was a sent a video of a guy killing himself for her. How he pulled that one off I have no idea. Well, just thought I would share this... Soo...I'm back after freaking out from the finals and trying to decide if I should continue on with precal, which drove me over the hill and made that nasty post I wrote before unsubbing. *inhales deeply* To make the story short, I dropped the class before my insanity went out the window, I'll have to take it over again. Anyhoo... "some people give up before it happens" right? So me. A question for you all: Has anyone seen those Sonicnet commercials and then it would end in some MTVI logo? Did I see it correctly or did I imagine that I saw Sheryl playing the piano in one of those commericals? It's not going to be an official album; we're not releasing it or anything. (too difficult) But we are going to put it together and hopefully send a copy to Sheryl, as well as to anyone who wants one. Check out www.sherylcrow.com/index_nav3.html for details. If you want to contribute a song, it can be either serious or funny (because most of the songs are going to be somewhat admateurish...nobody really has access to a recording studio) But if you do seriously want to contribute a song, visit the site to get Joe's e-mail address (he's coordinating the whole thing...look for any topics labeled Tribute album or variations on that) because I'm not sure if I should just randomly give out his address. The deadline is May 30 to get your song to him. Oh, and BTW, I guess you can also e-mail me privately for his e-mail address. :) Kate ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 May 2000 17:01:38 -0700 (PDT) From: Matt Stout Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Voices on The Difficult Kind I just had to comment on your signature Shawn. :) I love that song "The Last Time" SO (...) much. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make a CDr of the "Unreleased" album for me. I'm trying to find one with descent sound quality.
