Does anybody know this song? When is it from? Is it a cover? What other artwork is there supposed to be? Guitarfreaks, help me out here. But I can help you with the strum rhythm. Do you have the Globe Sessions guitartab book? I have it in front of me now (thank god to whoever invented the library!) and it is transcribed like this: imagine the d's to be quarter notes and p those other ones, you know one half of a quarter (eights? I only know the name of them in dutch.) the - means you don't strum those but only count. The basic rhythm (while going down and up) is like this: d p p-p p p p | d p p-p p p p| This is way to hard to describe you want me to scan the sheets in? Oh shit I can't, this old pc isn't connected to the scanner yet. But if you really really want me to, I will just go underneath the desk, bang my head a few times, connect the scanner and scan it in for you and everyone else who wants to know. Brigitte ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Apr 2000 19:25:28 +0200 From: Brigitte & Michael Subject: Re:[sheryl-crew] missing sheryl video Basically it's just two times down, two times up, down and up. Only when you get to the part after she sings ..floats in to your mind. You just strum 4 times up and down with the C. Then go back to the basic rhythm, and when you get to the part before "No You don't bring me" you also play that up and down 4 times (the Am) Man this is really hard to describe in english. I don't even no what the english word for piece between to bars is. You know when you count: 1,2,3,4. 1,2,3,4. LOL. There is a Gibson model just like it that does have the special hummingbird artwork. Sheryl's guitar is the tortoise shell. And her signature is just a replica copied onto a piece of paper stuck inside the guitar. I wish it was actually on the guitar, but it's not. Do you all remember those commercials that we all thought sounded a little like Sheryl?!?!?!? well turns out its not sheryl at all,, i just got a magazine, (EW) and it has a picture of her on page 22 saying Something to Crow about? and i guess since i have notthing better to do i'll type out the article since its not tooo long. here goes Something to Crow about? if you're a taxpaying TV viewer, chances are you've noticed the slick, cyber savvy IRS "E-file" ads and listened to the virtues of online filing extolled in a song by sheryl Crow?! Or not. Unlike Steve Miller, whose "fly like an egal" is the them for the us postal service, crow hasn't gone civil servant. the Crow-esque dulcet tones heard in this seasonal tax spot actually belong to Sophie Michalistsianos. The twenty-something singer says her velvety vocals (also featured in spots for Snack Well's Chevrolet, and Foldgers) are often mistaken for Crow's. "I think that's because of the genre of commercials i sing," says the britsh born Micha....."my own stuff doesnt sound anywhere close" surprisingly, crow's reps aren't demanding an audit ("honestly, your request was the first thing that i've heard about it," says a Crow Spokesman)/ And though an IRS rep conceded a certain similarity, dont go mistaking hiring a Crow soundalike as a sign the taxman is more with it: "some people said, "who's sheryl crow?" Just another taxpaying citizen, of course. well that was it, it has a nice size photo of sheryl too. I had to reply about the Gibson custom Sheryl Crow guitar. There was a picture in the most current issue of Musicians Friend catolog. It might be up on their website musiciansfriend.com It also had a picture of Sheryl. Speaking of Sheryl guitars, I recently went to Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando on a band trip. I searched the whole place over looking for Sheryl stuff. I had almost given up when my friend turned me around and sitting there looking so beautiful was a signed guitar by Sheryl. I had one picture left... and you can guess what I took it of. I also stole the center piece which was an advertisement for Hard Rock Live with a picture of Sheryl on it. anyways I just had to share it with you.
