Only you have to pay $5.00 to have them send the moneyorder. But at least you have prove you send it and you're sure the money reaches the right person. Btw, I'm still looking for a copy of the Central Park concert. Anyone wanna trade? Brigitte ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Apr 2000 08:52:33 -0400 From: "Michael Worrell" Subject: [sheryl-crew] Bill Murray's Intro at Central Park What is Bill Murray[1] saying on the first track of 'Central Park' when he opens up? As best as I can figure, it goes something like below: "Let's bring out our hostess, the one who's making it happen for us tonight, the of rock and roll, Miss Sheryl Crow!" I'm almost certain that the above isn't perfect, 'cause I can't understand him too well. Sounds as if he almost got a little carried away on the intro--but that would fit the 'tone' of the concert as reported by Rolling Stone, if memory serves. Thanks, Michael [1] I _think_ it's Bill Murray. He's the only person I couldn't definitively place elsewhere on the album, and the shot of him on the cover looks like it could be from his intro. I could be wrong; I didn't see the concert. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 9 Apr 2000 09:01:16 EDT From: KSGymnast4@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Bill Murray's Intro at Central Park Yeah, it's Bill Murray. That's what makes this list so GREAT no matter what it always gets back to Sheryl. I personally have learned quite abit from you all on this list, and not just Sheryl ! Talking about Sherl, my rough draft on "Sheryl Crow the Greates Female Rock Artist of All Time" is due Tuesday and I thank the crew for information I have used in it. I turned in a tape on the bibliography on it and the prof had the class watch it. That was pretty cool! One young lady said this class has been interesting and whenever I hear a Shryl Crow song, I t reminds me of you. Jeff, questioned me with "You only known about her for one year and you're claiming her the best?" I told him "Nope! I considered her the best once I saw her Favrite Mistake video!" I think they believe I'm nuts, just like the crew is. By the way I'm not a teeny bopper,I'm 48 and consider this crew kinda like the "DEADHEADS" fanatics of Sheryl Crow. On the RTG video, I agree with 2 of 5 rating, not because Sheryl wasn't great She WAS, but because of my expectations. I thought, and think it would have been better, it was going to be a compilation of all her tourdates during the RTG tour. I like Larry's idea on regional get togethers anyone in the midwest,I live in Ohio, like to get together and talk all night about Sheryl, Email me. But I disagree with Larry if I lived in DC, I would definitely travel the few hours to New York to meet and chat with fellow Crow Fans. I Feel Happy was written by Sheryl, there is a song out there called "Happy" that was written by Keith Richards which he sings on her friends album. This may be where the confusion lies. One final question I was on The "Home Of Sheryl Crow" the other day and when I tried to e mail the owner i got a message that it was no longer a good address. Does any of you know who does this site, cause I would like to tell him/her how neat I thought it was. I've driven past her parents home when she is in town and I've seen no evidence of it. Her dad is a lawyer in Kennett. Her brother, Steve, still lives in Kennett. Her sister, Karen, lives elsewhere in Missouri. Her other sister, Karen, lives in Nashville. (She sings backup on "The Difficult Kind".) There is no sign going into Kennett honoring Sheryl. You can get to Kennett from Interstate 55. At the first benefit concert we attended in Kennett (at the football field), her entire band was there. It rocked! Afterwards, we waited around the tour bus and spoke with her father until Sheryl emerged from the bus. She then came over and gave autographs and spoke with fans and friends. She allowed me to take a picture of her with my daughter and my daughter's best frind. She was very nice. At the second benefit concert, it was just Sheryl and her guitarist, Tim Smith, in an "unplugged" type concert. My daughter purchased a "Golden Circle" ticket which gave her a VIP Seat near the stage and a pass to a reception held after the concert. My husband and daughter went to the reception and spoke with Sheryl. My daughter gave her a demo tape she had made and asked Sheryl if she would listen to it when she had time. Sheryl graciously accepted it and slipped it into her pocket and told our daughter she would give it a listen on her way home. (Although I am biased, our daughter is a talented singer and songwriter.) On each occasion, Sheryl has been kind to her fans. I hope I answered all of your questions! Isn't it ironic, don't you think? (oops - that's not Sheryl Crow, that's Alanis! I better watch myself.). OK, OK, I have to mention Sheryl... let's see... ummm.. OK, yes, I am also in the market for unreleased CDs-- mainly her FIRST unreleased album from 1992. On eBay they seem to be overpriced (like $40 for a CDR copy). Does anyone have the capability of copying one for me at $20 or less (including postage)? As an avid eBayer, I also think Paypal is great- it lets you give your credit card # to Paypal ONLY and then everyone else who you pay doesn't get the information- just your payment. - -Larr _____________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Click here for FREE Internet Access and Email http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ Date: 10 Apr 2000 02:19:09 +0900 From: "Takuji Shimoda" Subject: [sheryl-crew] OFF: Paula Cole Hello crew, This is completely off-topic, but I just wanted to tell people I went to Paula Cole Band concert yesterday. And I was totally stunned by her performance. What an AMAZING singer/performer she is! This was her first tour in Japan and surprisingly she did two sets each for yesterday and today. What a stamina she has! Naturally(though I've been to Lilith twice), yeseteday's was my first of her concerts and I thought it was as good as(if not better) the first Sheryl concert I went back in '95, which will forever stand as the best of the first experiences with any artists :) But today's set was even better than that. She started with Amen and then Throwing Stones, which really rocked and well displayed her extraordinary talent. What amazed me most today was, she even did Led Zeppelin's Black Dog! After more than twenty songs today alone(it was her second set) she did it and she can still sing I Don't Want to Wait to perfection. I was really amazed. Sheryl fans definitely should see her live when you get a chance! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Takuji Shimoda E-mail: soullove@ca2.so-net.ne.jp http://www01.u-page.so-net.ne.jp/ca2/soullove/sheryl/sheryl_home.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 09 Apr 2000 23:16:01 -0700 From: avaldez Subject: [sheryl-crew] It was cool Like, the other day I was in my car and, like, I switched the channel to one of those rock stations and guess what?
