I agree with Amanda it's always fun trying to convert someone to Crowism, cause it gives me another reason to talk about SHERYL! Congrats to all the guitar players, maybe if we ever have that gettogether we could have one big ole Guitar bash. I think that would be pretty cool to hear all of you playing Sheryl's songs in sync. Pogo, I think that's neat to talk to one from Kennet, when I was in St. Louis, I asked a few people there about Sheryl. One said she didn't know where exactly Kennet was but it was just a little hick town. Another said she knew of Sheryl but didn't think Sheryl attended the St Louis campus. So much for Missouri. Catch you all later DaveP ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Apr 2000 10:39:59 EDT From: Crispinluv@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] OFF: Charlatans Us and Us Only Hi guys, I just heard the Charlatans' latest CD (the Charlatans UK, not the jazz band or whatever that thing is). It's called "Us and Us Only" and I really have a feeling a lot of Sheryl and Rolling Stones fans will like this one. It's got a lot of organ, piano and mellotron. A very cool CD. HEY, I play the bass, and i have managed to play My Favorite mistake( with the help of some tab), Anything But Down( which I am sure is incomplete), and some of Strong Enough, but it is difficult to do, since I can't find hardly any bass tab of Sheryl songs . :-( If anyone ever finds any, please let me know where! To be Held At Hollywood Palladium; Ben Stiller and Kristen Johnston to Co-Host HOLLYWOOD--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 3, 2000--On Monday, April 10, 2000, at 6:30PM, some of Hollywood's brightest stars will gather at the Hollywood Palladium, located at 6215 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA, to support Project A.L.S., a charity devoted to raising awareness and funds for research for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease). The evening gala will be hosted by Ben Stiller (There's Something About Mary) and Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock From The Sun); chaired by Brad Grey, CEO, Basic Entertainment and Andrew Jarecki, CEO and Founder of AOL Moviefone; and presented by Saks Fifth Avenue. The evening will include a VIP reception, followed by dinner, a live auction, music by Grammy-Award winner, Sheryl Crow and comedy by Dennis Miller. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the second annual David Niven Award. The recipients of this year's award are Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane, Richard Lovett and David O'Connor, all partners of Creative Artists Agency (CAA). This award is presented to an individual or group of individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to finding effective treatments and a cure for ALS and/or to raising awareness about ALS. Other celebrities who are participating include: Scott Wolf, Sharon Lawrence, Jane Krakowski, Steven Weber, William Baldwin, Gina Gershon, Marisa Tomei, Penelope Ann Miller and many others. The evening gala will be the grand finale of the two-part Project A.L.S. fundraiser. Earlier that day, Project A.L.S. will hold its Inaugural Celebrity Golf Classic at the prestigious Riviera Country Club, Pacific Palisades, CA. Golfing for Project A.L.S will be Robert Wagner, William Devane, Ray Romano, Scott Wolf and many more. Tournament winners will be announced at the evening's dinner gala. Project A.L.S. is a not-for-profit initiative founded by Jenifer Estess, along with her family and friends. Jenifer is a theater and film producer who has been battling this disease since she was diagnosed in 1997 at the age of 35. The goal of Project A.L.S. is to raise awareness about the disease and to fast track A.L.S. research by directing significant funds toward the development of treatments and a cure. In the past eighteen months, Project A.L.S. has funded research that has moved us exponentially closer to effective therapies and ultimately, a cure for ALS. The Project A.L.S./Neural Stem Cell Replacement collaboration uniting scientists at Johns Hopkins, Harvard Columbia Universities and University of California, San Francisco has shown real promise. If successful, neural stem cell replacement will represent treatments and possible cures not only for ALS but also for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. Sponsors of the gala include Saks Fifth Avenue, American Airlines (the official airline of Project A.L.S.), AOL Moviefone, Jill and Brad Grey and InStyle. Tickets are available for $500 and $1,000. To purchase tickets and for more information on Project A.L.S., or to make a donation, call Project A.L.S. at 800/603-0270. The mother of a girl I go to school with is like best friends with Sheryl's sister because they went to college together, my cousin has a friend in Kennent whose older sis went to high school with Sheryl, and another friend of mine's dad is a police officer and just so happened to be one of Sheryl's escorts for one of her concerts ( my friend got to sit in the same car with Sheryl and have a conversation with her......I AM GREEN WITH ENVY!!!!) I live just a couple miles out of Columbia, Missouri the coolest college town in the world ( sorry for my bias, but hey Sheryl and Brad went here that counts for something...) I have never been to Kennent but I am planning to go there this summer just to see what it is like. But if you have any questions about the town Sheryl went to college in, I would be happy to try and answer them. Take Care Amanda =) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #95 ********************************
