Now on his official site their going to broadcast his Oscar Winner Party. They say Elton (off course), stars and Academy Winners are going to be there. Does anyone know if Sheryl is going to join them too? I know she's not nominated for an Oscar but maybe she's one of the stars? She was at Elton's Grammy thing too. She was at EMI's party, The Dixie Chick's Party at the House of Blues AND Elton John's? MAN! Must be nice to be able to party hop like that! lol Christina ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Mar 2000 19:26:30 +0100 From: Brigitte and/or Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew] Re: [none] i, my name is Kate, I just joined this and also realized that this is a list-serve. How cool is this??? I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. Wow another Kate. How much Kate's and Katie's do we have now huh? Maybe it has something to do with the name? Maybe all Kates are Sheryl fan's? ;-) Do we have anyone by the name Sheryl here btw? When I watched "Charmed" the other day I noticed one of the producer's name is Sheryl J. Anderson, I thought that was cool, cause Sheryl is not such a common name, at least when it's spelled that way (I've seen lots of Cheryls) Brigitte ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Mar 2000 19:33:20 +0100 From: Brigitte and/or Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew] Re: Hi from the UK Helen my friend!! I like Heather Nova and Sarah McLachlan too, besides Sheryl. I know there are some Sarah fans here (Hi Katie, MsCreation, Estoricgirl!) But I've never read that anyone like Heather. You should all check her out, she can rock like Sheryl and write lyrics like Sarah. Perfect mix. Helen, what are your fav songs from these 3 artists? Mine are: Anything But Down (but it depends on what album I'm listening to) , Elsewhere and Island. And there's many more on the Fan Forum. Don't forget the newsgroup. I suggested to throw in a poll and EstoricGirl threw one in, and now the newsgroup is really starting to move his butt around. For you who haven't joined yet: alt.music.sheryl-crow I don't know how you can join a newsgroup with Aol, but I guess there are some people here who could tell you. Oh and if there's going to be a Sheryl Party in the States, does anyone feel obligated to pay my plane ticket? Or maybe we could raise some money huh? Forgive me but I had 5 digests to go trough and I just wanted to give my share in everything. Ok, to the point. Has it ever happened to you that you rediscover an artist totally? Like you haven't listened to their music for a while and then when you finally play their music you fall in love with it all over again? Well that happened with The Globe Sessions last week. I finally let one of our friends hang my Sheryl poster (the one from the Globe Sessions 1999) on my bedroom wall (pretty funny, he kept saying her name wrong and I kept telling him, "no it's not Cyril, it's SHERYL!) And at the end he asked me what music she actually made, so I put in the Globe Sessions played My Favourite Mistake and I just totally fell in love with the song again. I've had the cd in my discman all week, played it 3 times a day one time (when I got stuck with public transportation for 1 hour and it took me 2 hours to get home, while I usually need 45 min!!) It's such a great album! There Goes The Neighboorhood is such an awesome partysong, unfortunately at the parties I go to it's never been played. I even found out that the album has a hidden song. I copied the cd from a friend (I know, I know I was pretty low on cash at the time) and put some other songs as a filler. I always thought that there was something wrong with it cause it took so long to go fromt the last song of TGS to the next song so I always just skipped it trough. And now when I was stuck in traffic I just let it play on and guess what, that song Subway Ride comes along! How cool! Oh and when I entered the bus today pulled out my earphone to show my card to the driver, guess what is playing on his radio: "I've got a feeling, that I'm not the only one, All I Wanna Do" My day couldn't get any better! Brigitte Thanks for letting me rambling.... :-p ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 25 Mar 2000 20:05:53 +0100 From: Brigitte and/or Michael Subject: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl Party in the UK? Maybe we could have a party in the UK or something for the European fans here? Or we could all go to Amsterdam, that's pretty central, and get some booze, smoke some grass (like I ever do that..lol, booze yes, but grass no, I don't even smoke) Anyhoo, if the yankees are going to have a party I think the Eupies (is there a nick name for Europeans?) should have one too. How about that? I vote for Amsterdam or London. How about we set up a site with some info on everybody, maybe a picture. I think that would be really cool, so we all get to know, and especially the newies, eachother a little bit better. Oh and where did all those new people come from? It's like a Sheryl Crew invation! Normally you see this after an artist brought out a new album or they saw a concert. Maybe it has something to do with the Grammy she won? So please let us know you newies, how did you find us? I haven't had time to join any groups on the internet and I thought this would be an awesome way to get to know people who are pretty much like I am (considering that I have one, count em' one friend who listens to Sheryl Crow, and she is also on the list). I think it's fun to get to know people who otherwise, you wouldn't know. I was also wondering, does SC have one blue eye and one green? In most of the pictures that I have, that's the way her eyes are and I thought it was pretty neat. Well anyway, if anyone knows, email me. Sarah P.S. I go through phases you know one week I will listen to only one person for example Sarah McLachlan then I'll do something and put in my Sheryl CD and BOOM, Sheryl goes into the CD player for a week. I do the same thing with songs, I'll kind of get tired of a song and after a couple weeks or months I hear it and it becomes my favorite song.
