I sell Sheryl stuff all the time, both autographed and not. (I am a reporter with special ties to the woman - born in her hometown and went to her school - so I get them quite frequently anytime she is in the area. She will usually sign a load of stuff) In fact recently I sold a yearbook from Sheryl's senior year at the University of Missouri. It went for over $200. Like I say, her stuff is a hot commodity. > i dont know if it is just me but i sort of think that if you are a true fan > of sheryl you wouldnt buy one because it really wouldnt have any meaning > unless you got it yourself from sheryl..if you are a true fan you will hold > out untill the wonderful moment when you meet her a get a signature........i > still am but.......IM GONNA GET ONE!!!!!!!! > > JUST MY $.02 > landon ****************************************************************************** "...And I hear them saying 'You'll never change things, And no matter what you do it's still the same thing.' Today In Music: What happened in years past on this day in popular music By PENNY NELSON, United Press International (March 1) In 1995, Bruce Springsteen won four Grammys at the 37th annual awards in Los Angeles, while newcomer SHERYL CROW took home three. According to the person posting on the forum, Sheryl _may_ have named the band, and contributed one or more of her songs from the unreleased album, which they ended up putting on their album. The post on the forum is gone... And I can't remember what album(s) the poster said the songs appeared on, or even what songs they were to begin with. Can anyone help? My quest to have everything Sheryl's wrote/performed hangs in the balance. *smiles* Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. The name actually stems from a medieval legend that the combination of a bell, a book and a candle would ward off evil spirits. Or something along that line. :) It's on Bell Book & Candle's album, Read My Sign. :) Kate ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 22:16:35 +0100 From: GJ.Gregor@t-online.de (Gregor Janz) Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Bell Brook And Candle KSGymnast4@aol.com wrote: > Yeah, the song "Destiny" was from her unreleased album (I'm not sure if it > was ever recorded) that they covered. They had one or two hit singles a few years ago but I can't remember the titles. I saw them in 1997 at an Open Air Festival in Germany as one of the opening acts and it was very disappointing. In fact the whole music and the vocals wasn't done live but came from tape! At least the female singer was kinda good-looking ;-) Gregor ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 16:39:04 EST From: MsCreation12283@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Sheryl For President I didn't catch MTV 1515 either, could someone please please please inform us about what she said? It was a short little thing. Sheryl's standing there, chewing gum with a disgusted look on her face. (it lost it's flavor, I suppose) As the interviewer is introducing her, she takes it out of her mouth and gives it to someone behind the camera. As he's talking she sticks her tongue out at the camera. He asks her about a couple people who were receiving awards, and she mentions someone else. Whoever was the founder of the rock the vote. Sorry I don't have specifics on that. He says "I wasn't not counting Hillary" She was like "Back off, no need to yell at me." He said "I wasn't." and asks her if she would like to receive an award for being politically aware. She says in a really funny voice "I want to run for president," He asks her "Really?" and she shakes her head. Then she says, "I just want to say really quickly, that if you're voting, and you should be voting, that you should educate yourself on who is voting for what, because there are many candidates speaking with a forked tongue. So go out and vote for someone who you know what they're running for, okay, and that's all I'm going to say about it. It doesn't matter who it is -- Gore -- (laughs) but make sure you vote for the person who stands for what you believe in." The whole time she was wagging her finger at the camera like a school teacher. The guy starts to introduce something else and she starts doing some really funny stuff that's hard to describe. She started flapping her arms behind the guy, made a few moves behind his head, pretended to lick his neck, and started grinning at the camera. Right before it cut to someone else she made the OK sign with her fingers and held it up to her eye, looking through at the camera. It's hard to explain why it was so funny, or even exactly what she was doing. You guys need to get a copy of a tape to know, I think. I did my best. Anyone who can help me out on this, it would be appreciated. ;) :) Kate ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 21:12:19 -0500 From: "Christina Clark" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Favorite Sheryl Interview??? They're pretty good with a somewhat Cranberries rock style (not that their lead singer sounds at all like Dolores , but similar music) . Their latest release is "Read My Sign" on Atlantic Records (well actually Atlantic is the distributor , their actual label is The Blackbird Recording Company). Until now , I hadn't read the liner notes b/c well . . . honestly I get a lot of new cds by new bands that I've NEVER heard of and really don't pay much attention to until I work them. Track 13 on the disc is written and composed by Sheryl and a guy named Jay Oliver !!! How about that one kids ? Thanks for calling it to my attention. :-) Here are the lyrics : Destiny - composed by Sheryl Crow / written by Sheryl Crow & Jay Oliver is there any place tonight will the sun come out and light the shadows creeping through this barren land nothing is familiar now looking back i see somehow the future holding out it's empty hands but it must be destiny, destiny not left to chance with a wave of a hand , in a wasted land , we dance but it must be destiny , destiny for only we too will know what the meaning of love can do no truth my soul can trust will sleep come rescue us and i lay my head down on a bed of steel love will never be the same to close to risk the pain no touch of skin feels how it used to feel chorus refrain ::: i'm gonna be the strength you need tonight i'm gonna stand beside you when you just can't fight to hold on i'm not giving up on the plans we made if there's a chance i believe we can find a way i won't let you give up now but it must be destiny , destiny . . . enjoy ;-) Hilary ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 1 Mar 2000 22:55:47 EST From: Hurcane17@aol.com Subject: [sheryl-crew] sheryl's heritage here's a question for the crew... someone from work and i were discussing sheryl and he was like i like her as well...is she native american, which i ahve heard other people say mainly because of her last name...being crow... so the question is what nationality is she? anyone know for sure...i mean like i'm half irish and half portugeese...so what is sheryl...just curious. - -jess ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Mar 2000 00:04:37 -0500 From: "Christina Clark" Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Favorite Sheryl Interview??? >sheryl did kareokee? But I don't think "Read My Sign" is the latest single from BB&C, I saw new CD in stores few weeks ago (thier 2nd one?), and the song "Fire and Burn" being played on many radios here. It also has a video, it's cool.
