I went to this special Chantal Kreviazuk concert lastnight and it was awesome! Aside from the fact that I was hacking up a lung the whole time... But anyways, during the interview portion, Chantal was asked if she remembers anyone famous ever saying they were a fan and if it meant a lot to her...or something along those lines. Anyways she said something to the effect of, hmmmm, uh, if they did, I probably forgot it...but actually I remember Sheryl Crow coming up to me one time and saying she really like my song "Surrounded" I guess for it's lyrical value, but that meant a lot cause she is such a talented musician and I really like her. Or something like that, I can't remember verbatim but oh well. !!! COOL! I was beaming you should have seen me! People were looking at me strange! haha So there you have it! Everyone go to napster and check her out! SHE KICKS ASS!!! Her new album "Colour, Moving and Still comes out in the US in the middle of April, so watch out! or you can check out the webcast of the event available on www.HMV.com for a week. Well today it came like it always does, and I opened it up and found a picture (small) of SHERYL!!! It was a little thingie about musicians and the music that inspired them to go out there and rock.... This is what Sheryl said: "There were two albums that made me want to become a musician--"Let it Bleed" by the Rolling Stones and Joni Mitchell's live album, "Shadows and Light." Interesting, yes? I have a hunch what it is, but I'm not sure-- however, if it involves the word "menses", please don't explain. ____________ I was very glad to hear Sheryl won the Grammy. You have to admit she is one of the "Grammy darlings" who also include Alanis, Eric Clapton, and Sting. It's almost as if no matter what they do, they will get the Grammy. I actually don't like this kind of thing, except when it applies to Sheryl and Alanis (2 of my favorites)-- because I think they often deserve it. But it sometimes seems like Eric Clapton could fart and win a Grammy for it :). - -Larr __________________________________________ NetZero - Defenders of the Free World Get your FREE Internet Access and Email at http://www.netzero.net/download/index.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Feb 2000 16:37:01 MST From: "Beth Krawczyk" Subject: [sheryl-crew] grammys :) Hi everybody, Well, I'm sure everybody's posting today (I'm on digest), but I guess I have to add my 2 cents. :) First of all, somebody else probably already posted this, but Sheryl's supposedly on CNN World Beat this weekend, according to rockontv.com. She is just the coolest chick. Oh, and speaking of chicks the Dixie Chicks also won and performed an awesome song (Goodbye Earl). Problem is that Sheryl has deserved all the Grammy's she's won, but when it gets to the point that she releases a throwaway cover song and that too wins her a grammy, well it devalues all the others.
