Dear Kate, Thanks for letting us know about upcoming TV appearances. I don't get the Food Network, but my one friend has a satellite dish. So he'll be able to tape the show for me. I wonder if that ACL performance is a repeat from the one she did back in '97? That show aired in April, '97. It was awesome. Sheryl opened with Winding Road and closed the show with I Shall Believe. I read an article about the Orville H. Gibson Awards last night (can't remember where though ) and Sheryl is nominated for best acoustic guitarist female, along with Sarah M and Ani Difranco. She was shafted in the rock guitarist, female category, but I don't like it anyways, there are so many amazing guitarists being left out. AND WHAT'S WITH ALANIS BEING NOM. FOR THAT CATEGORY??? I like Alanis, but I really don't get it, best rock guitarist my ass. Christina GO SHERYL! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000 18:27:36 EST From: XMystery79@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] Gibson Awards Christina's right, I've seen Alanis in concert and she had her guitar for 2 songs tops, she played maybe 3 chords. Sheryl definitely has more experience with one than she does. But at least she got recognized for her accoustic work. =================================== Mary, Mary quite contrary close your door now it's much to scary, and you might see something you wish you hadn't seen...... Sheryl Crow: IMYH ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000 18:30:44 EST From: MsCreation12283@aol.com Subject: Re: [sheryl-crew] HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!! I listen to only stations that play Sheryl as well but on my alarm clock I can only get one radio station which is the one I don't like too well. The radio station is mainly a pop radio station but every now and then they play Sheryl. What really made me dislike them was what they did when she played a concert here in April. Leading up to the concert they were all like " Y107 brings Sheryl Crow back to Mizzou for a homecoming concert you can't miss blah blah blah"~they didn't sponsor it, they weren't the radio station Sheryl did her interview with, and they very seldom play her ~but that was a minor upset. BUT the day after the concert was a different story, the bitchy-ass (sorry for the language) morning crew wouldn't take calls from people who went to the concert because the woman~who I can't stand~heard a rumor that Sheryl was a real bitch to people backstage and that she did this and she did that. The morning show woman said she left before Sheryl came on because 1) of what she heard and 2) that she couldn't stand her anyway. Since that day I have yet to hear them play Sheryl in the morning when that woman doesn't make some snotty remark. I know someone who WAS backstage and they said Sheryl was very nice, she did want some things i.e. postcards, gum, etc. and she asked the people (whose job it was anyway) if they could get her some. ( She couldn't really just go roamin' around Mizzou to buy postcards and things she would never get back in time for the show.) Sorry for the long post but I kind of get on a rant when I tell this story. Take care. Cheers Amanda =) ------------------------------ End of sheryl-crew-digest V3 #41 ********************************
